Chapter 101
The round moon hung high that night, and stars dotted the entire sky.
Chandler was heading back to Herland the next morning. Quentin took Chandler to Bleibstown to have a lock at the paper–making process, as well as for dinner. The fish in Bleibstown, after all, was amazing.
Naomi accompanied them.
“Master Chandler, I’m guessing it’ll be a long time before you return,” remarked Quentin somewhat mournfully when everyone was almost done eating.
He wanted Chandler to stay in Horizon City for a while more, but Chandler had too many things to do. He could not remain in Horizon City for long. Five days was the maximum he could do.
Chandler chuckled. “It’s fine. I’m familiar with the place already. I won’t need any take me around next time. I can get about on my own.”
of you to
“That won’t do! There are still a lot of places you haven’t been to yet! Let us take you around the next time you’re here. Even if it’s not me, you can get Naomi to do it.”
“Haha! Alright, then!”
The dinner ended on a high note with laughter and cheerful chatter.
Around eight something, everyone came out from the private room to their cars.
As the chauffeur opened the door, Chandler looked at Quentin and said, “Thank you for everything you’ve done all this while, Quentin.”
“It’s nothing. It must’ve been hard for you to do this on your run. We all admire you very
much.”
Chandler waved dismissively. “People should do meaningful things so that their lives won’t be in vain.”
“Yes, we should all learn from you.”
“No need. You guys are doing well enough!”
After exchanging enough pleasantries, Chandler looked at Naomi benevolently. “Naomi, you haven’t been to Herland before, have you? In that case, have some fun there. Let my good–for- nothing grandson take you and Scott around Herland.”
The events and activities in Herland had been planned. They had to start executing it. Naomi, Quentin, and a few others had to make a trip there soon.
They even agreed on the time already, which was set three days later.
Scott, on the other hand, never showed up. He seemed to have vanished after that night. No one knew what kept him busy. He never texted or called Naomi, either.
Naomi was not surprised at all, nor did this trouble her. It was in Scott’s nature to not give updates whenever he was busy. After all, there was not much need for him to keep in touch with her.
There would be someone specifically in charge of the event. He had staff who would be reporting every detail and progress to him too. He did not need to contact her at all.
Naturally, she did not need to contact him either.
Naomi smiled. “Okay.”
Chandler nodded, satisfied, and waved everyone goodbye. “See you all
very soon.” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“Have a safe journey, Master Chandler!”
Chandler got in the car, and it drove off into the night.
Quentin waved until he could no longer see the car before lowering his hand.
He looked at the time. He realized that it was 8:40 p.m. and that it would take about an hour to reach home.
He said, “Let’s go.”
Even though Chandler left, that did not mean their work had lessened. On the contrary, it only increased.
They needed to arrange for the people to go to Herland. There was still work to be done in the museum that could not be halted, so they needed to rearrange everything.
The trip was at least 10 days long. The schedule was tight.
Everyone nodded and got in the car. Naomi followed.
Right at this moment, Naomi’s phone rang. She stopped in her tracks and took her phone out. It was Scott.
