In Regalian Garden, Cynthia got the news about having made the jewelry contest a week later. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
She wasn’t doing much today, just chilling in a rocking chair out back with a book on her lap, planning her design. All of a sudden, Winnie came over speaking quietly. “Mrs. Sullivan, Mr. Sullivan wants you to bring lunch over to his office.”
Cynthia raised her eyebrows in surprise and asked uncertainly, “Bring lunch to him?”
“Yeah. Mr. Sullivan isn’t into outside food. We usually send what we made to him,” Winnie explained, staying cool and trying to remember exactly what Liam had told her just before. “Mr. Sullivan’s been having tummy trouble lately, so we gotta look after him more.”
Cynthia didn’t question it and put her book down, standing up, “Alright then.”
Winnie packed the food quickly, handed it to Cynthia, and said, “Mrs. Sullivan, I packed enough for two. You can have lunch with Mr. Sullivan.”
Cynthia nodded, not thinking twice about it. On her way out, she remembered Winnie mentioning Liam’s upset stomach, so she went back upstairs and grabbed a special pill from the cabinet that was meant for stomach aches. She made it with unique herbs back when she was out on the border. It worked wonders but was super bitter, ‘cause the best meds were usually the nasty ones.

per usual, Darian drove her to the office. Riding in the backseat, Cynthia checked out the scenes rolling by the window and figured she should get her own driver’s license so she wouldn’t have to bug Darian every time she needed to go somewhere. She asked him, “Darian, do you know where I can get a drilicense?”

Darian looked up at Cynthia in the rearview mirror, kinda puzzled. “Mrs. Sullivan, vou
wanna learn how to drive?” “Yeah.” Cynthia nodded. “It will be more convenient for me to go out.” Back at the border, she used to tear it up in a race car, but now she could only watch them drive.
Darian didn’t chat much after that and just gave her the information she needed. Cynthia wrote it down.
They pulled up to Sullivan Group soon. Cynthia stepped out with the lunch box, rocking her casual look, but the receptionist grinned at her all friendly–like.
Word about last night’s fancy auction had buzzed through the whole office. Everyone was still jazzed about how stunning the CEO’s wife looked. As Cynthia showed up, the place went silent. The receptionist was all respectful, bending over to guide her to Liam’s personal elevator.
The elevator went straight to the top floor. Liam was there, buried in paperwork, dressed to the nines in a sharp suit. The guy was a knockout, with his killer looks and all caught up in his work.

Cynthia walked in, lunch box in hand. The second Llam heard her, he looked up and put down his pen, flicking his finger at her to come closer.
Cynthia put the lunch box on the table and walked over as he asked. But before she knew it, Liam snagged her into a hug.
“Hug me,” Liam said, sounding tired. He wrapped her up tight and nuzzled into her neck, breathing in her scent.
Cynthia’s neck was crazy sensitive, and Liam’s breath on her skin turned her to soften in an instant.
“You’re so soft and fragrant,” Liam murmured, eyes shut and all caught up in her scent. He felt like he was hooked. He’d only been without her for a few hours and was already missing her like crazy. That was why he’d played his tricks to get her to the office.
Then came a knock at the door. Cynthia jumped, trying to get out of his lap. They were all cozy, reminding her of what they would do in bed, and it’d be mad embarrassing if someone walked in on them cuddling like this. But Liam wasn’t letting go, and Cynthia was pretty much stuck there in his arms.
“Come in,” Liam said in a deep voice, still holding onto Cynthia.
The door swung open and Ziv, along with a bunch of the higher–ups, stepped inside. Cynthia’s eyes nearly popped out. ‘What are the odds?‘ she thought and quickly sat up to look less close to Liam.
Feeling all shy and jittery, Cynthia didn’t notice that sitting up just squished them together more. She could feel Liam stiffen behind her–the surprise was for him, too, it seemed.
“What are you doing here?” Liam asked with a cool tone and a frosty look. He wasn’t thrilled about his chill time. being crashed.
The executives were sweating bullets. All they could see was Cynthia sitting on Liam’s lap, their lower bodies shielded by the desk, with Cynthia’s blush and Liam’s ice–cold glare. They were putting two and two together and thinking they’d walked in on some private couple time.
Everyone stood frozen, shooting glances over at Ziv for help. Ziv managed to report everything as quickly as possible. Liam, the sharp guy he was, took it all in, thought for a second, and then rolled out this whole string of tech–speak.
Not long after, the crowd cleared out. As the office door clicked shut, they let out a collective sigh. Someone said, “Mr. Sullivan sure is loving his newly married life.”
Another chimed in, “He’s been single forever. It ain’t weird he’s all about it now that he’s hitched.”
Those guys were all about their CEO’s love life until Ziv coughed, giving them the look. “Keep it up if you want trouble. I’m outta here.” They got the hint and scattered.

Back in the office, Cynthia was still stiff. Liam was grinning at her red face–not so tough and cold like a minute ago with his subordinates. He leaned in close and whispered in her ear, “Do you feel it?”
Cynthia glanced up, kind of confused, until Liam moved a bit and she got what he meant. Her ears went tomato red. “Pervert!” she called out, finally wiggling free and plopping down on the couch.
Right then, Ziv came back in. Liam was about to follow Cynthia, but he sat back down when he saw Zlv. “You better have some real business,” Liam said.
Ziv said bitterly, “Mr. Sullivan, Mrs. Florence Wilde and Ms. Yolanda Wilde are waiting downstairs.”
Hearing this, Liam frowned. The purpose of their coming to him now was obvious. “Tell them I’m not here,” he said. Anyone who messed with his wife was looking for trouble, and he wasn’t about to let that slide without teaching them a lesson.
Ziv said, “But Mrs. Florence Wilde said she must see you today.”
Liam was ready to shut it down, but then Cynthia’s voice sounded. “Let them come up.‘
Ziv checked with Liam, caught his nod, and headed out.
Cynthia thought for a while, gritted her teeth, and sat back on Liam’s lap.
