A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 384 Spectacle

Simon stood up with a smile and patted Douglas on the shoulder.

It wasn't that he underestimated Douglas, but with his level of intelligence about

the same as Yvette's, the chances of him beating Sierra were slim.

However, he enjoyed the spectacle, so he gladly gave up his seat.

Daniel saw right through him, and his lips curled up unconsciously, looking forward to the show.noveldrama

Before Douglas could even sit down, Melody eagerly said, "I haven't played cards with you guys in so long. I kind of miss it."

Hearing that, Douglas, who was about to lower himself onto the chair, immediately stood back up and said attentively, "Then, you should sit. I'll help you think of strategies."

Melody gave a reserved smile. "Are you sure? Maybe you should play instead." There was no way Douglas would disappoint her. He pulled her straight into the chair and then grabbed another chair to sit behind her.

"Go ahead and play. If you win, it's yours. If you lose, it's on me."

Yvette looked away, unable to bear the sight. She scooted farther from them.

Upon noticing her movement, Melody's expression darkened slightly. "Yvette, we haven't seen each other in so long, and you're still the same as before."

She was as annoying as before.

"Heh." Yvette let out a perfunctory chuckle.

Douglas shot her a helpless glare, only to be punched in the back by Simon the next second. Rubbing his sore shoulder, he quickly changed the topic. "Come on, let's deal the cards. It'll be time for dinner soon."

Ever since finding out that Sierra had married Theo, Melody had made it a point to gather information about her. Every account she heard was the same-Sierra had chased after Benson relentlessly, lowering herself to an embarrassing degree.

She thought Sierra was nothing more than a greedy, weak woman with no abilities of her own and who relied entirely on men.

A woman like that was obviously not good enough for Theo. Even though they were already married, she refused to stand by and watch him be forced into a marriage with someone so unworthy.

returned to the country earlier. Instead of thinking she was sabotaging their relationship, she believed she was saving Theo. Even after her shock and heartbreak at how much he cared about Sierra, she did not have the slightest urge to back down.

Theo was indifferent to her, but Melody wanted to prove herself better. She even began to wonder whether he would regret it if she outshone Sierra. Would there still be a chance for them?

With that fantasy in mind, she sat at the card table, shooting Sierra a hostile glance. Every move she made was deliberately aimed at making things difficult.

Dealing with her constant

irritated. Her relaxed look vanished and her lips were pressed into a firm line. Her mind worked quickly, calculating every move before she played.

Daniel and Simon noticed her playstyle becoming sharper, reminiscent of Theo's. They couldn't help but glance at him.

When they saw the subtle smirk on Theo's lips and the pride in his eyes, they both frowned, wearing expressions like they had toothaches.

Two hours later, Melody's smile had completely faded. Her lips were pulled downward as she glared bitterly at the cards in her hand, throwing a doubtful look at Sierra.

Theo sat slightly behind and to the side of Sierra with his arm casually resting on the back of her chair. From Melody's angle, it looked like he was holding her.

"Theo, you can't help Ms. Shaw just because of your relationship. That's not fair." She thought that Theo was always extraordinary, while Sierra was completely incompetent. There was no way Sierra could have beaten her unless Theo had been helping from behind the scenes.

Convinced of this, Melody had a somewhat brightened expression. She pouted playfully. "We all know how skilled you are, but you

Sierra blinked, looking puzzled. She turned to Theo, asking, "When did you help

me play?"
