A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 402 A Heated Argument

Xavier was working late at the office, engrossed in his studies, when the call from the bar came in. For a moment, he didn't quite process it. "You want me to pick up who?"

The bartender on the other end glanced at the man slumped on the floor and sighed. "Your father had a bit too much to drink here," he said sympathetically. "Could you come settle the bill and take him home?"

Xavier fell silent for a full minute before grabbing his coat. "Alright, I'll be there soon."

The realization hit him hard. His once dignified and authoritative father could one day be too drunk to even pay his own tab. The thought left him with a complicated mix of emotions.

At the bar, Xavier followed the bartender to a corner where William sat in disarray. Keeping his composure, he paid the tab and waited until the staff had left before approaching William. He gave him a couple of nudges to check if he was conscious and quickly asked, "Dad, how did you end up like this?"

William squinted up at him, taking a long moment to recognize his son. Then, gripping Xavier's shirt, he slurred with bitter remorse. "Xavier... I've failed you."

Xavier's heart lurched. He wanted to press further, but the stares from nearby patrons stopped him. Instead, he quickly helped William outside.

Back home, after settling his father onto the couch, Xavier crouched in front of him. He asked again, "Dad, what did you mean earlier? What do you have to be sorry for?"

The cold night air had sobered William up somewhat. Knowing he couldn't hide the truth from his own family any longer, he confessed. "That investment... It was a scam. The money I put in-gone. The people behind it have vanished.

"I wanted to set aside some money for your future, but now I've lost everything, even my last reserves."

Xavier barely registered the rest. His mind reeled at the realization. William had been scammed, and the money from selling the house was gone.

Stunned, he blurted, "We have to report this to the police."

William grabbed him, adamantly refusing to go to the police. "No! f this gets out, we will be a laughingstock. How the hell am I supposed to face anyone after this? No we can't involve the police."

Xavier wasn't actually planning to call the police. He was just putting on a show to avoid suspicion and prevent future retaliation.

He suspected Sierra was behind this, but he never imagined she'd be so ruthless.

Now, aside from the company, William had nothing left to his name.

"Dad, what do we do now?" Xavier asked, playing the dutiful son.

William clenched his fists, eyes burning with determination. "The company is still ours. As long as we have it, we can make a comeback. Besides, Theo is your brother-in-law. Now that we're out of money, we can ask him for help. I don't believe they could be heartless enough to turn us away."

Xavier understood his plan to turn to the Gray family for help, but he knew it wouldn't work.

Not only was Theo formidable, but Sierra was unquestionably no pushover! When she decided to make a move, it was always a fatal strike.

William had it all figured out: he would have Theo and Sierra compensate him for his losses. He'd even settle for just the villa and the 3 million monetary gift he'd demanded previously.

However, before he could demand money from Sierra, the creditors showed up with the mortgage agreement. Either he repaid the loans or vacated the house.

William had sold his other properties to raise funds. The house they lived

in was the only one he had

mortgaged. He'd made a deal to buy it back in a month with extra interest once his investments paid off. noveldrama

Now, the deadline had arrived, and he was broke.

Forced to leave the home he had lived in for years, his rage boiled over. He

erupted into a heated argument with the creditors.
