After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Divorcing 50

Chapter 50: Heartbreak

Michael glanced sideways at Chloe's flushed cheeks, his eyes darkening instantly.

"Alright..."

He whispered something, then ignored Chloe's struggles, scooped her up, and walked out of the bar.

Chloe wanted to fight back, but once she got into the car, she curled up in the back seat, drowsy and soon fast asleep.

The go-go dancer really liked Chloe. Seeing her leave with another guy? Yeah, that didn't sit well with him.

He watched the car speed off, fumes trailing behind. Shouting at the top of his lungs, he yelled, "Hey, this is illegal detention! I'll call the cops, you hear me?"

Candy gave him a tug, exasperated. "That's her husband, not a kidnapper. You're the one acting out of line."

The go-go dancers gasped, "She's married?!"

"Yeah, you better stay out of this."

Candy didn't mean to ignore Chloe; it's just that Chloe and Michael are still married, and it's none of her business. Chapter 50: Hear

Candy pondered for a moment, then simply hailed a cab and left.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Michael carried a drunk Chloe back to Lotus Manor.

She went limp, clinging to him like melted gum.

Chloe wrapped her arms around Michael's neck, nuzzling his

ear.

"What's your name? Where do you live? How old are you?"

Michael realized she was still drunk. With a cold expression, he pulled her off him and grabbed her hand, his gaze growing darker.

Chloe's eyes shimmered with a teasing allure.

"Where do you live? I'll go back with you. I can't pay you, but you can ask my useless husband for the money."

"What's so useless about your husband?" Michael growled through gritted teeth.

He thought, "Damn woman, even drunk she can't forget to call me useless."

Mentioning Michael made Chloe instantly sad. She let go of his neck and sank back onto the bed.

She didn't want to talk, but Michael pressed on, "Trouble with your husband?"

Chloe shook her head. "It's not just one fight, it's too many to count."

Their conflict had become an unbreakable knot.

"How's he treating you badly?" Michael frowned.

Chloe sighed softly and pulled the blanket over her head.

"He doesn't like me. If it weren't for his grandpa, he'd be with someone he actually loves. So he hates me and nothing I do is ever good enough. These past three years, he hasn't felt a thing for me." Michael listened to Chloe, his brow furrowed.

"When did he ever say he didn't like you?"

"He knows my stepsister and I don't get along, but he still hangs out with her. Growing up, she always outshined me, taking everything I wanted. First it was our dad, and now it's my husband." Chloe ignored Michael's question and just kept talking.

"Why is no one standing by my side? Is it because I'm not worthy?"

"Am I a terrible person? For three years, he's never acknowledged me. Every time someone praises how perfect he and Lucy are, it feels like my heart shatters..."
