chapter 81 Doesn't your conscience hurt?
The other members of the Si Family had no idea what was happening.
Yaron, in particular, frowned as confusion filled his face.
Timothy was the first person in the Si residence to support Olivia and even knelt to beg Olivia to treat Dennis. Yaron couldn't help but wonder why Timothy ended up being the one who harmed Dennis.
Meanwhile, Zachary looked sullen without speaking.
Only Yelena scolded coldly, "You're an ungrateful prick, Timothy! Everyone thinks you are absolutely loyal to Dad. Who knew you had been long been bribed and brought over by Finley and was his aid in harming Dad?! Were you the one behind the poisonous insect, too?"
There were six siblings in the Si Family, including Xavier.
Zachary was the eldest, while Xavier was the youngest, and in between them, they had another brother named Finley Si.
Rumors had it that he fought with Dennis many years ago and had fallen out with the latter. Then, Finley went overseas to create his own business.
And it had been years since he came back.
Moreover, Finley had not contacted Dennis in a long time. Even though he stayed in contact with another sibling, Cynthia Si, the Si Family lost all contact with him after Cynthia passed away a few years ago.
If Timothy hadn't mentioned Finley last time or Yelena hadn't mentioned him earlier, the Si Family would have remembered his existence.
"Ms. Yelena, do you have any evidence? If you don't have them, you're accusing me of something I did not do! I have been staying in the Si residence for ten years, serving old Mr. Si all along. If everyone were going to blame me whenever something happened to old Mr. Si, my life would have long ended before this. Besides, Mr. Finley ran away shortly after I arrived at the Si residence.
Timothy sneered, continuing his words, "I still remember that you fought and argued with old Mr. Si extensively after Mr. Finley left home, Ms. Yelena. Who knows whether you are a thief posing as the judge now?"
"Does that mean you admit that Finley is a thief, Timothy?" Xavier probed.
Timothy frowned. "Mr. Xavier, I was just making an analogy. I'm saddened by the fact that you guys worked together to go against me for an outsider!"
Yelena smiled. "Oh, look at you ranting on. You really thought I have no evidence?"
As she spoke, she clapped her hands. Two young men immediately stepped forward and threw a bunch of miscellaneous items before Timothy.
Timothy's eyes widened with horror when he laid his eyes on them. "What are those things? Do you guys think you can slander me by just rummaging through the items in my room?"
Xavier raised his eyebrows. "You admitted that these things belong in your room when you haven't even looked at them. It means you remember these things clearly!"
So, Xavier told Zachary to unravel those items. Some of the things turned out to be stacks after stacks of letters.
The recipient of these letters was Cynthia, the fifth sibling who had passed on.
It all indicated that Timothy was in a relationship with Cynthia.
Not only that, after Zachary went through the letters, he realized Timothy blamed Cynthia's death on Dennis, holding a grudge against the latter.
Meanwhile, the other item was something that closely resembled Morse Code.
Yelena brought someone with her today who was an expert in this. After deciphering it on the spot, the Si Family realized these were conversations between Timothy and Finley.
One of the latest conversations revealed that these two men talked about something like injecting Dennis with a needle and lighting a candle.
Meanwhile, the conversation that mentioned the poisonous insect was found in a document from more than ten years ago, which showed how dishonest and manipulative Finley was.
Even more frightening was that Timothy hid his hatred for Dennis for so long without anyone noticing.
He had been serving Dennis closely, seemingly caring for him meticulously for many years. But the truth was that Timothy secretly colluded with Finley, who was overseas, wanting to end Dennis' life slowly.
Everyone was shocked after reading those letters.
Even though the Si Family members were intelligent, it had never occurred to them that Finley and Timothy would conspire to do something so terrifying.
"Timothy, we have all the evidence we need! What else do you have to say for yourself?" Zachary grumbled as he glared at Timothy.
Timothy smiled sarcastically, "You can convict me by just forging a few pieces of evidence. Well, you guys can make me suffer and end my life if you guys want to. I have nothing better to say than I
feel unjust on behalf of old Mr. Si…"
Timothy glanced at Dennis on the bed next to him. "He is now lying on the bed, sick. Yet, his descendants didn't bother to find the culprit for him. Instead, they want to get rid of me, an outsider that he is close with. This is such a pitiful situation!"
"Zoey, I was the only one who supported you and begged you to treat old Mr. Si. I thought you were capable, but who knew you were an accomplice that Mr. Finley hired to harm old Mr. Si? It's all my fault! I was too naïve."
"Oh, so you're still up for some quibbling? You already held a grudge against Dad while you guys were still in the army back then, isn't it?" Zachary snorted coldly. "You lost one of your arms because you saved my dad and had to live with a prosthetic arm all these years. You were the one who could have been the commander, but because of your arm, the position was given to my dad. Moreover, you could only stay beside him as a servant all these years. Did you resign yourself to this fate willingly?"
Zachary sneered. "You thought you hid your dissatisfaction and hatred well, but whenever my dad was in high spirits, I could see the gloom in your eyes. How dare you say such sarcastic remarks right now?"
"What right do you have to speak that way? Hah! You were so eager for Dr. Xue to cure Dad's illness because you wanted to take the opportunity to end his life, right? That's because you know if anything happens to him during the treatment, you can pin the blame on Dr. Xue without anyone knowing! That way, not only can you eliminate Dad, but also damage Dr. Xue's reputation. That's a great plan you have there, Timothy."
Timothy was unwilling to admit defeat. Though, he closed his eyes ultimately, "There's no point in denying my involvement anymore if you guys don't trust me. All I know is that I treat old Mr. Si sincerely. If you guys want to end me, do it before old Mr. Si regains consciousness. After all, he
knows it better than anyone else who is genuinely kind to him, and when he wakes up, you guys will have no way to take action against me anymore."
Timothy's overconfidence made the people around him chuckle, especially Zeke and Camellia Luo, Yelena's daughter, who had just returned from outside.
"Timothy, we treat you like a part of our family. Who would have expected you to collude with Uncle Finley? Grandpa will be so disappointed after he wakes up and finds out what you did!"
Camellia linked her arm with Yelena's. "If Mom and I led people to your room and found these items in your safe, we would have never realized that you were doing all these harmful things to Grandpa! Timothy, Grandpa treats you so nicely. Doesn't your conscience hurt when you did those things?"
"I'm afraid he has given up on his conscience when he did those things for Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Finley's sake, so he will never feel sorry toward Grandpa." Zeke sneered. Then, he told Zachary, "Dad, we can't let him off the hook so easily!"
"Of course!" Zachary and Yelena looked at each other. Their sharp gazes fell on Timothy. "Somebody, bring Timothy to the detention cell. Keep an eye on him. I will question him personally."
After speaking, Zachary added, "Don't worry, Timothy. I won't kill you before Dad regains consciousness. But if you don't cooperate with me, I will inevitably make your life suffer."NôvelDrama.Org content.
