Chapter 30: I'll Sleep With You Willingly
Roland put down the catalogue and observed the room quietly.
When the third item came up for bidding, he could clearly see the disdain in the crowd.
The starting bid for the item was 100,000 dollars.
At first, no one offered a bid.
Alvera frowned. She turned to look at Roland, but he did not move, so she grabbed his wrist and raised
his hand. "One million dollars."
Roland smiled but said nothing.
The bidders sitting in front of them were surprised to see Rolland bidding so much.
When they turned and saw Alvera sitting beside him, they realized that he was spending for love.
The hall was still silent. As the auctioneer picked up the gravel to seal the price, Alvera shifted in her
seat uneasily.
Suddenly, someone in the first row called out, "Two million dollars."
Alvera looked over, clearly relieved.
Roland raised his paddle and said, "Three million."
They went back and forth, bidding against each other, until the price reached nine million dollars.
At this point, Roland stopped bidding and lowered his paddle.
Alvera looked at him nervously. "Mr. Francois, please."
"Alvera, you're smart. This is a clever trap to get my money, isn't it? Tell me, why should I fall for it?" He
asked calmly, crossing his arms.
...
Alvera froze, suddenly realizing that he knew about her plan.
How did he know?
Roland smiled. "No good businessman will buy at a loss."
Alvera swallowed nervously as the auctioneer began calling for final bids.
She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists tightly. "I'll sleep with you if you bid for this."
"You?"
"You said you want me to sleep with you willingly," she continued. "If you buy this item, I'll sleep with
you tonight."
Roland smiled and shifted his eyes towards the stage. "How much do you want?"
"20 million dollars."
Roland raised his paddle calmly. "20 million dollars."
This time, the hall was quiet. Nobody countered his bid.
Alvera let out a sigh of relief.
After the auction, Roland drove the two of them home. Alvera sat in the passenger seat, fondling the
wooden giraffe in her hands gently.
"You have nothing to say to me?"
Alvera glanced at him. "I'm not going to apologize for lying to you. I'm broke, this was the only thing I
could think of. Also, I didn't lie when I said this giraffe was a gift from my grandfather."
Roland sneered and said nothing.
"How... how did you see through my plan?"
"I told you, you're a bad actress, so don't try and act in front of me."
Alvera frowned, her mind reeling with anxiety.
When they arrived home, Alvera told Becky to rest early tonight, then turned to Roland and said, "I'll go
upstairs and take a bath."
"Who are you going to call this time?" He crossed his arms and looked at her.
She smiled. "I keep my promises, Mr Francois, don't worry. If I say I'll sleep with you willingly, I'll follow Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
through."
She went upstairs.
In the bathroom, Alvera clenched her teeth as she looked at herself in the mirror. The ugly scars on her
body reminded her of all the hardships and humiliation she had experienced over the past years.
"It's fine," she told herself. "I'm already unclean. There's nothing to be scared of."
It would all be worth it as long as Andrina is hurt, watching the man she loved become hers.
When she came out of the bathroom, Roland had already finished his shower and was waiting for her
on the bed.
"It's not too late to back out now."
"I should be saying that to you, Mr Francois. I wasn't the one who backed out the last two times."
"Are you blaming me?"
She raised her eyebrows. "Of course not."
She turned off the light and walked towards the bed.
In the darkness, he pounced on her like a lion and pinned her on the bed.
"That was your last chance, you can't back out now."
He pinned her arms above her head with one hand and tore open her bathrobe with the other, all the
while kissing her.
Alvera submitted to him silently in the darkness.
It took her all her energy to stop herself from screaming in fear and anger.
She tried her best to hold in her emotions, but her tears fell uncontrollably.
