Anita’s Voice: Behind the Headlines

I Own You

Chapter 11: I Own You

“Everything is fine dear Anita. Let’s go to bed.” Kate said, cutting Anita off. She didn’t want to get anita involved in her issues.

Anita didn’t say much, she just followed her and they went to bed together.

The next morning, Anita was the first to wake up. After freshening up, she a walled into the kitchen and made breakfast for her and Kate.

Kate soon woke up exhausted, but didn’t stand up. She just laid there exhausted.

Anita walked into the room, but couldn’t help but wondered what it was that succeeded in bothering Kate this bad. She had never seen kate this way before.

“Do you need me?” she asked.

Kate froze.

She just realized that Anita had been watching her for sometime.

“Umm I’m fine dear Anita.”

“Okay. I made breakfast. You should come out to eat.” Anita said to her and walked away.

Taking a deep breath, she stood up and walked into the bathroom, freshened up as well and moved to the dinning area.

Sass Media House

Anita sat in her office as she went through what she had on her system. Not long after, someone opened the door and walked in. In shock, she looked up. When she saw who it was, her countenance changed.

“You are not my boss, neither are you my superior, so next time, ensure you knock before walking into my office. Do you understand?” she said to him. Her eyes speaking anger.

“I am sorry, but I am not sorry.” Andre said and walked out, shutting the door a bit hard with one hand in his pocket.

Anita froze.

She couldn’t get what just happened that moment.

After what seemed like forever, she continued going through the file on her computer.

Andre was already so pissed off as he stood outside of Sass Media House. He didn’t know what to do at that moment. “Should I leave?” he asked himself.

He then got into his car and drove off.

It was already 5pm, but Anita was still working nonstop, unaware of what the time says until her phone rang out, bringing her back to her senses.

“Hello!” she quickly answered, not minding who it was that was on the phone until she heard his voice.

“You should be off from work. Don’t tell me you are still in that office working off your butt.” he voice sounded.

“Umm.. I am fine. Eh… I will clear up now and continue tomorrow.” she said, turning off her system.

“How about a date night today?” he asked.

“We can have dinner together. I don’t mind.” Anita answered, feeling her heartbeat as she replied him.

“See you soon.” he then said and ended the call.

Anita cleared up he desk and went home immediately to get ready.

When she got home, she met Kate.

“Hi Kate!”

“Anita! It’s so good to see you. Oh my gosh you look so stressed. Is everything okay?”

“Everything is cool, meanwhile, it feels good to see you in the right mood.” Anita said happily and went in to freshen up.

“Do you have a date with Thomas?” Kate asked as she walked in and found Anita facing the mirror.

“Yes I am.” anita replied and focused on her makeup.

“I will help you.” Kate then took the items from her and proceeded to make her friend look good.

Atlantis Restaurant

“I noticed you loved this place so much when we came here the last time, so I thought it would be a pleasure to have you see here again.” Thomas smiled as he led Anita to her seat where she sat down.

“You are right Thomas. I really enjoyed here. I’m happy I am here again.”Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

“Hello Sir! Hello ma’am! What will you like to us to offer you?” a young waitress walked up to them and asked.

“Hi! Just a drink. A soft drink.” Anita answered without looking at the menu in front of her.”

“No, don’t worry anita.” Thomas said to Anita. Turning to look at the waitress, he picked a few from the menu and asked her to bring it.

Anita dropped her phone to take a look at Thomas, only to catch him staring at the waitress’ waist as she walked away.

She froze.

In confusion, she tried to process what was happening in her presence.

The waitress had bowed and left, but Thomas didn’t stop staring at her admiringly? What about her then?

Thomas didn’t even notice the look on Anita’s face. He kept staring at her.

The waitress returned with the order only to see Thomas having that look on his face.

“Is there anything else sir?” she asked.

“Umm nothing actually.”

“Okay sir.” she said and walked away with Thomas repeating the same thing.

Anita felt helpless as she kept watching him.

After what seemed like forever, Thomas came back to his senses only to find Anita staring at him with disappointment.

*Oh my God! She must have seen me.* he thought. His head was already a mess as he tried to explain himself, but Anita wasn’t in the mood anymore. Standing up she walked out of the restaurant under his watch.

When she got outside of the restaurant, she boarded a cab immediately and made her way home.

Anita was in tears as she looked through the streets of New York City. This was her first relationship in New York City and for the past few days, she had invested feelings in it.

“How could I do this to myself?” she whispered silently.

*such disrespect, she would never take.*

Thomas was still sitting on the chair in the restaurant feeling disrespected by Anita.

“How could she just walk out on me? What makes her thinks she is do important?” he said quietly but in anger.

He then started thinking of how to punish her what his phone rang, interrupting his thought.

Anita got to her apartment soon, and saw the light on. *Kate must be in.* she thought.

She then went closer. When she opened her door, she froze in shock.
