At the call of the moon

chapter 2

Carter what the hell are you doing here?

Carter had no idea what was going on. but he knew he had no strength left. Giving in to fatigue, he sank into unconsciousness.

Lexa, helped by Jake, hoisted the poor young man on the back of one of the wolves and they returned to their territory, their heads full of questions. Once in front of the main building, where the Alphas lived, Lexa’s parents, she shook Sleeping Beauty, who slowly opened her eyelids. When he realized he was in an unfamiliar place and surrounded by wolves, Carter’s eyes widened and he tried to back away, only to fall off the back of his carrier. Lexa jumped up next to him and put her hands on his chest to soothe him.

– Everything is fine . Everything is fine . We just want to understand what happened to you. Do you want to tell me?

He still looked a little in the coltar as he muttered:

– The wolf… The wolf bit me… Then I was the wolf. But that’s absurd.

Seeing that they did not answer, he began to panic:

– It’s absurd ! Is not it ? Is not it ?!

Lexa bit her lip before telling him in a soothing voice:

– Carter… I don’t think it was a dream…

He ran his hand through his hair, trying to take in the information.

– So you’re telling me that…© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

She gave him a small smile full of compassion – of pity – and completed:

– You were bitten and you became one of us, yes. I’m sorry .

He moaned, his hand gripping his thick mahogany locks.

– Why ? What am I going to do ? What am I going to become ? My family …

She used her dominance to force him to calm down and said:

– First thing, we’re going to find my father. Then we will help you. You are no longer all alone;

Despite the distressing side of the situation, the girl’s words calmed Carter. He didn’t know why, but he believed her when she said he wouldn’t be alone. Then something hit him:

– Why should we go see your father?

She gave him a carnivorous smile:

– Because my father is the alpha and you just entered his territory illegally.

Lexa led Carter to the room where her father was entertaining, a large, bright room at the end of which, overlooking a small flight of stairs, was a throne. And on the throne he had his father, John Filharmony

She made Carter kneel a few steps from him and went to position herself in his place, to the right of his parent. The alpa began, his deep voice invading the room:

– What are you doing here, stranger?

Carter began to sputter:

– I don’t… I don’t know…

Luckily for him, Lexa chimed in, one hand resting on her father’s arm:

– He was bitten against his will, Dad. He doesn’t understand and doesn’t know what’s going on.

The alpha seemed to think for a few seconds, then leaned back towards his daughter:

– A loner you think?

She nodded gravely and he sighed, turning back to Carter.

– Do you remember who bit you?

He shook his head, intimidated by the dominating aura emanating from this man, as well as his daughter. He felt someone or something calling him, as if connected to him by a thread, and decided to ignore it, despite the call which was getting louder and louder.

– So, We leave you two choices: either you join your creator and you answer his call, or you join our pack, or we can take care of you and where you will be considered as one of ours. But if you choose not to join our pack, know that you will probably be a lone wolf.

Carter quickly weighed the pros and cons: Sure it was a drastic life change, but being a lone wolf… He had heard that few could stand it. Or survived it. But he couldn’t stop thinking about his family, how they were going to react, what was going to change… increase his anxiety. Luckily, when he looked up, she was standing right next to him, handing him a goblet of steaming liquid that smelled amazing. He looked at her suspiciously.

– What is that ?

She burst out laughing and shoved it in his hand.

– It’s tea with medicinal herbs and moon water! Drink, it will do you good!

Shrugging his shoulders, he complied, thinking that wolves were capable of killing him in far worse ways than by poisoning him. With claws for example… But as soon as the liquid ran down his throat, he immediately felt better. it was as if the liquid was regenerating him and restoring his strength.

Shit, that thing was even better than coffee. Meeting the gaze of the young woman with long silver hair, he made his decision:

– I will join your pack.

May realizing that he did not know how it all worked, he asked:

– So… There’s a mystical ritual or something like that?

Out of the corner of his eye he saw JakeSarland hit his head with his hand and the Alpha burst out laughing, as did his daughter.

– No, no, nothing very complicated!

And, under Carter’s astonished eyes, The alpha split his fanged wrist open and presented it to him. He cringed, but Lexa tilted her head forward, whispering:

– Wood . Do not worry .

So he drank. And immediately, the call in his heart was silenced, and the bond was replaced by another, much stronger one. He was connected to so many people, and they were connected to him. It was an incredible feeling, and he suddenly understood why packless wolves had such a hard time once the bond was broken: the silence, the loneliness had to crush them until there was nothing left. Lexa’s father looked him straight in the eyes and said before letting out a howl:

– Welcome to the pack, Cub.

Lexa, who had just screamed in response to her father said to him smiling:

– Welcome among us .

The deep voice of the alpha rose behind her:

– Lexa, since he’s your friend, it will be your responsibility.

She widened her eyes:

– What ?! But… It’s the first day of the full moon!

– Do you want to be alpha? Well consider it part of your training.

She frowned, but tried to keep her face in front of her father, even if it cost her. Maybe he wasn’t wrong, and since she couldn’t transform, she had other… needs that Carter could fill…

Carter saw Jake lose the small smirk that had appeared on his face when the alpha had called him a wolf cub when he realized that Lexa was going to take care of him personally. Well done, asshole, Carter thought. The young girl greeted her father and, taking him by the hand, led him into the corridors. It wasn’t at all like he had envisioned it every time he thought of the wolf lair. He had believed that they lived in poorly maintained wooden huts, like animals, but it turned out that they actually lived in a succession of ultra-modern chalets within a gigantic and landscaped clearing. They stopped in a large kitchen. She leaned over a large pot, the moonbeams peeking through the window making her hair glow, and poured two cups of the famous tea from earlier. She handed him one of the two and he took it before gulping it down in two gulps. He felt invincible, capable of anything, even seducing the beautiful Lexa, whose nipples he did everything he could to ignore her sticking out through her thin tank top. A long silence fell between them before she broke it by saying:

– This is where we congregate for most meals. You’ll see, you’ll meet lots of pack members tomorrow morning and they’ll be delighted to meet you!

He started to panic again:

– T-tomorrow morning? And my parents? If I don’t come in, they’ll freak out and call the police!

She chuckled:

– Don’t worry about that, we warned them and told them that you had a sleepwalking attack during which you hit your head and that we found you and treated you. They won’t ask questions.

He arched an eyebrow:

– Andthey swallowed that?

She chuckled even louder:

– Of course ! What do you think ?

Without waiting for his answer, she led him to another room. And yet another. And another . She showed him around everything, from the individual chalets to the showers and the rest rooms. Everything was fine there, despite the fact that they were in the middle of the forest. She finally stopped in front of a door, which she opened before slipping inside. As he entered, he realized that this was probably his bedroom: a large soft-looking bed, topped with a black iron frame covered in ivy, paint everywhere, a recognizable bag tossed in a corner. She was in the corner of the room, her eyes twinkling, her cheeks flushed and her voice hoarse as she mouthed:

– Since I couldn’t transform myself, my other… appetites woke up (she passed her hand over her chest) Do you feel like satisfying them?

He felt the blood rush into his sex as his mouth opened to churn his jaw and she moved slowly towards him, sure of herself, a potential predator on the lookout for her prey. She smirked and held out her hand. Time seemed to slow down as she placed her palm on his crotch, as if the universe itself couldn’t believe it: Lexa Filarmony was inviting him, Carter Masin, the bottom of the bottom of the ladder into her bed . Unable to hold it any longer, he grabbed her by the hips, placing the girl’s legs on either side of her waist, and pressed his lips against hers.
