Chapter 1600
The annoyed Wyatt turned back to the car. After starting the car engine and picking up his phone, he sneezed non-stop. "Achoo! Achoo!"
Pulling a paper towel and wiping his nose, he felt a sharp headache before he realized that his head was heavy. It made the situation worse. Did he catch a cold?
Picking up his mobile phone, he dialed Waverly's number once more. "Sorry. The number you've dialed is unavailable. Please call again later. Sorry..."
When he tapped on the call button once more, he simply couldn't get through. Once he did so, there was a beep, followed by the automatic hanging up of the phone.
"What's going on?" Did she blacklist him?
For a moment, Wyatt was stunned. Subconsciously, he tapped into her WhatsApp chat box and typed the five words. "Pick up
the phone!"
In the next second, a huge exclamation mark appeared on the screen when the
text failed to be sent over. A row of gray characters read as follows.
"Love.WC is a private account. You're not a friend yet. Please issue a friend's request. After the verification, you can start your chat..."
She blacklisted him and changed the nickname back?
Did "Love.WC" mean "Love.Waverly Castle" or "Love. Myself"?
That said, his nickname for her was still the "Little Demon@44". For years, it was his first time setting a nickname, yet it was for her. His previous nickname was his own name, "Wyatt-W J". The last two alphabets were the initials of his name, which referred to Wyatt Johnson. The nickname was special and not ostentatious.
She deleted his contact information and blacklisted it. Did she want to break up with him for real?
The woman...
Why didn't he give him a chance to explain when she got mad regardless of what had happened?
His heart bled. In an instant, it was near to shattering into pieces. Starting the car engine, Wyatt rushed to Stormy Accounting Firm. At a red light, he answered a phone call, but he didn't stop sneezing. When he could no longer stand it, he said into the phone.
"The company's affairs aren't urgent. You can deal with it as you see fit. Ahchoo... I'm feeling a little uncomfortable. I'll have to visit the hospital! WhatsApp whenever you need me! Ahchoo..."
Hanging up the phone, Wyatt rubbed his nose and grabbed a few more pieces of tissue. When he could finally not stand it anymore, he was left with no choice but to change navigation and first head over to the hospital.
When he arrived at the nearest hospital, he found that it was where he had happened to send Raynee to the day before. He had no time to think about it, so he went to get a check-up and had an IV drip.
As soon as she woke up, Raynee felt as if all her bones had shattered with her entire body sore and in pain. She knocked on her head and propped up her body but was depleted of strength when she fell back on the bed. It was then she realized that she was not looking at the ceiling of her room. What she could see was the unfamiliar clean whiteness, accompanied by the signature smell of disinfectant.
"Is this... a hospital?"
Why was she in the hospital?
Raynee's head felt heavy as if it had been filled with lead. All she remembered was that she had gone to East Bannpool with her friends the day before and had drunk a few glasses of wine, next... Why did she have no impression of the next events?
Just then, a series of footsteps was heard, followed by a familiar voice, "Raynee, are you awake?" "Mom?" Seeing her mother entering the ward with a lunch box, Raynee was even more surprised. "What happened to me? Why am I here?"
What was going on?
Before Gerdi Wilken could make a sound, a sharp female voice came from behind the group. "Who are you asking? Don't you know what you've done?"
Followed next a young woman in beautiful clothes and high heels
came in through the door, followed
by a servant holding onto a fine
basket. She was the person who had spoken up, Stephanie, the second daughter of the Wagner Group. Right then, she had a faint smile on her face, her tone tough to be recognized. After beckoning for the servant to set the flowers aside, she turned to the middle-aged woman in simple clothes. swnovel
"Madam Wilken, you're here to visit Raynee! Thank you so much. My mother is not in good health, so I'd have to trouble you with taking care of Raynee. Except for you, who's comparingly close to us like a sister, my mother must be worried about handing her over to anyone else."
Instantly understanding the situation, the woman hurried to say, "This is what I should do, Miss Wagner!"
It was only then that Raynee realized what she had just said. Her face revealed subtle changes, but she said nothing more.
After taking two steps forward, Stephanie explained, "Dad is on a business trip. Mom is in poor health and can't get out of bed, so they sent me here to check on you. Raynee, are you all right?"
"I am." Raynee nodded. Without saying anything further, she remained smiling.
"You were too careless. Why did you
go to the nightclub alone? You suffered losses, didn't you? If it weren't for Wyatt, we couldn't imagine how you would have ended up! Not only did you wake the entire family up in the middle of the night, but look at you, you were like a madman that made it to the headlines. If it weren't for that, Mom wouldn't have been so angered to the point of her not being able to get out of bed! By the way, Mom reminded me to tell you that you should thank him properly. Without Wyatt saving you, we won't know you're at right now! Oh right, dad went on a business trip related to the mall that sells messaging sofas. He won't be back this time around. The whole family relies on him to live!" swnovel
"By the way, I have a violin lesson in the afternoon, so I'll have to leave. Have a
good rest!"
As soon as her voice faded away, Stephanie waved her hand and left with her servants. In an instant, Raynee's face darkened once more.
She knew that the last few words were to deliberately remind her. She had no idea if her father was out to do business, but it was true that he wanted to expand the group with Wyatt's power.noveldrama
She had heard about it both in public and private multiple times. She didn't know how the family business was doing, but she rarely spoke to Wyatt and would only occasionally request his help in dealing with some irrelevant stuff. She didn't want to get and make the most out of him. Compared to the materialistic items, Wyatt had always been more important to her. She had never had such a thought, but right then, she would never have the chance to feel so since Wyatt had chosen to break up with her. swnovel
Raynee felt as if her heart was pressed by a few layers of rocks that added to the pain and heaviness of her body.
The nurse who was busy with her work spoke up all of a sudden. "Miss Wagner, your temperature and blood pressure are all normal! I have drawn
your blood and sent it to the laboratory. You can have something to eat right now. In a moment, I will come and give you another medicine. The toxins in your body have almost been cleaned up. It should be fine, but you must pay attention to rest and drink more water!"
"You didn't know how dangerous it was last night. A handsome gentleman carried
you all the way here with sweat covering his forehead! He's your sweetheart, isn't he? We did gastric lavage twice to make things better. You must pay attention to your safety when you leave the house in the future..." After reminding her, the two nurses walked out, muttering among themselves.
What do you think?
