Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 206

Inside a hotel suite, Janice held up her trophy. "Looks nice, doesn't it?"

Edward's eyes were fully fixed on Janice. "Yes, it looks great."

But he wasn't referring to the trophy.

"This will stay in your office."

"Alright."

Edward took the trophy from her. "Let me take it from you. It's a bit heavy. Let's eat. We'll return home first thing in the morning."

"Okay."

At the dining table, Edward glanced at her several times. "You've won awards before. Why are you so happy this time?"

Since the award ceremony, Janice's smile hadn't faded.

She curled her lips and replied, "I'm laughing because Heidi is digging her own grave."

When Heidi and Simon left the venue earlier, Janice had noticed a middle-aged man from Onley Group tailing them.

Given Onley Group's style, Heidi was bound to be targeted. Perhaps they were even having a conversation right now.

Edward commented, "Heidi has already been captured."

"You know?" Janice was surprised.

She had assumed Edward was unfamiliar with foreign affairs. After all, he had been by her side the entire time and hadn't met with any influential guests.

Then again, if Edward weren't well-connected, he wouldn't have been the only Cruznian judge at the international competition back then.

Meanwhile, Janice's assumption about Heidi was correct.

At that moment, Heidi was being dragged by her hair by Louis' men.

Santiago smirked. "Still not telling us where Shirley is?"

Though he was Cruzian, he had been raised abroad by Orion Jovarek and had witnessed the family's ruthless ways all his life. Despite his kind-looking features, he was as merciless as they came. Otherwise, Louis wouldn't have kept him by his side as his trusted advisor.

Heidi screamed as she was beaten, her cries echoing through the estate. Locked away in another room, Simon was terrified. He no longer cared that Heidi had deceived him; he just wanted to return home alive!

Santiago's voice remained calm. "Of course, you can keep pretending to be Shirley. But I operate on the principle of better safe than sorry. If you insist, then don't blame me."

After a severe beating, Heidi finally realized these men were truly lawless abroad. She didn't want to die here.

With blood trickling from her nose and mouth, fear overtook her as she cried out, "I'm not Shirley Olson! I only pretended to be her to take down Janice! Let me go! Find the real Shirley instead!"

"But you're friends with Shirley, aren't you? Otherwise, why would she give you the brooch?"

"I don't even know her! I only have her WhatsApp!" Heidi clutched her head and wailed. "Let me go! I was wrong! I'll never impersonate her again!"noveldrama

Santiago found her frustratingly stubborn. Even after all this, she refused to reveal Shirley's whereabouts, proving their relationship had to be close.

With a glance, Santiago signaled the bodyguards before stepping out.

More agonized screams filled the estate. Heidi had nowhere to run and could only endure the torment.

When Zedrick returned, the cries were still ringing through the halls. He seemed unfazed but frowned his brows nonetheless.

"Another seamstress refusing to join Onley Group?" he asked.

Before his illness, Zedrick had traveled far and wide with Orion for business. That was until he visited a small town in Cruznia and met

Amelia Burnett. When he return

he discovered he had contracted HIV. With no will to continue, he handed everything over to Louis.

"No, it's just a woman impersonating Shirley. I want to know where Shirley is, but

she refuses to talk," Louis explained concisely.

Zedrick was helped to a seat. "Impersonating Shirley Olson?"

"Yes, Mr. Zedrick. This is her," Santiago said, handing over Heidi's file.

Zedrick's expression darkened when he saw the name and phone.

Louis noticed it and asked, "Zedrick, do you know her?"

"I don't know her."

But...
