Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 209

Janice spent the entire day in the study. Aside from a slight ache in her waist, she felt no discomfort. Stretching lightly, she opened the door and called out, "Mrs. Moore."

Barbara, who was in the guest room across the hall, heard her and stepped out. "Mrs. Moore, I've finished the restoration. Take a look."

"You spent the entire day working on it? I thought—" Barbara was stunned. She had assumed Janice was working on her own projects, so she hadn't disturbed her and only occasionally checked to ensure she was still fine. But when she saw the fully restored artifact, her astonishment deepened.

It was impossible to tell that it had ever been damaged. Only by running a hand over it could one detect the restoration work. The crochet skill required for this was nothing short of genius.

"Janice, thank you! You need to rest now. And dinner will be ready soon. I'm making a full spread just for you." Barbara was overjoyed.

When Janice lay down to rest for a while, Barbara snapped a photo of the restored artifact and sent it to both families' group chats.

Barbara: "Look at what my future daughter-in-law can do! Isn't she amazing?" Myra: "She fixed it already? You can't even see any traces of damage!"

Meanwhile in the Moore family's group chat, Greg replied. "Incredible. If she hadn't gone into crochet, she'd be a pro at textile restoration."

Valentina: "Barbara, that woman saved you and helped you with such a big favor. Are you planning to show some appreciation?"

Greg: "And how could Edward take her abroad when she's still recovering?"

Barbara suddenly recalled that Janice had just won an award. Delighted, she went back to her family group chat to brag again, prompting her cousins and relatives to offer gifts as a token of their congratulations and gratitude. Barbara accepted everything on Janice's behalf.

At 6:00 pm, Janice came to the living room wearing a camel-colored long-knit cardigan with her hair neatly tied back, exuding warmth and elegance.

Barbara sat with her on the couch, chatting about the gifts her various relatives had sent.

When Edward arrived home, the first thing he saw was this cozy scene.

Hearing the door open, Janice turned and immediately got up to greet him, "Are you tired?"

The tension and exhaustion Edward felt from his long day melted away the moment he saw her.

Barbara headed into the kitchen to check on the soup, giving them a moment alone.

He took the chance to kiss her. "I'm not tired. I just missed you."

Janice smiled, pressing her lips together.

But how could he not be tired? His eyes were red from exhaustion, proof of how busy he had been all day. She hadn't gone to the office, and while many things could be handled over the phone, some required personal decisions.

Her recent international award had drawn attention domestically, e leading to a surge in orders from retail stores and major corporations commissioning custom crochet pieces as high-end accessories.

Just today, Sunny, the vice director of Prosper Stitch Group's
