Chapter 95
It was only when she got home that she realised she had not called Jaxton or even texted him.
“Shit she exclaimed as she turned her phone on to see that she had received numerous messages and voice messages from Jaxton.
” I’ll respond when I am done,” she said as she tossed the phone on the nightstand and went in to get her bath.
She needed it because she was exhausted.
She realised it was a Friday and she had promised Amanda and the other girls a meetup so she had to fulfil it but this time she would have to have the girl’s night out at home because if she left her house she just might not come back.
Selfish as it might sound but she had movies they could watch hopefully the girls accepted.
Sydney had been friends with Amanda for years, and the two had a Friday night tradition of getting together for drinks and good conversation.
However, Sydney had been extremely busy with work lately and had to skip out on the past few outings.
To make up for a lost time, she invited Amanda over to her place for a night of catching up.
Amanda gladly accepted, excited to finally see her friend again.
As soon as Amanda arrived, she and Sydney started chatting away, talking about everything from work to the latest gossip.
They shared a bottle of wine and a plate of cheese and crackers, just like in old times.
They even played some board games and watched a movie, laughing and having a great time.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
However, things took a bit of a turn when Jaxton, Sydney’s boyfriend, unexpectedly showed up.
He was drunk and visibly upset about something.
Amanda saw that things were getting tense, so she decided to make her exit and let Sydney handle the situation.
While she was disappointed that her fun evening was over just cause of Jaxton but still she had to listen to what his ass had to say to her.
Jaxton and Sydney had been dating for almost a year now. Everything was perfect for both of them until the past few weeks when Sydney started neglecting Jaxton.
He tried talking to her about it, but she didn’t seem to take his concerns seriously. One evening, Jaxton had made plans to go out with his friends.
However, he decided to give it up just to spend some quality time with Sydney.
However, she seemed too occupied with her stuff and barely gave him any time of day.
Jaxtin couldn’t hold it in any longer and confronted Sydney about her behaviour.
The conversation quickly turned into a lover’s quarrel as Jaxton poured his heart out, telling her how neglected and unimportant he had started to feel in their relationship.
Sydney, on the other hand, argued that she was just really busy with work and didn’t mean to hurt him.
Jaxton couldn’t take it anymore seeing how things were going. He was fed up so he hit his hands on the wall so much so that they began to bleed.
“Jaxton comes on stop that, would you stop being a child?” she rushed to his side and tried to look at the bruised hand but he just wouldn’t let her touch him.
“Let me go, Sydney you caused this, I am hurting because of you” he sounded pained and couldn’t handle his emotions.
“You don’t have to be a child over everything Jaxton!” she screamed and for a moment the entire place quietened down and he turned to look at her.
He could finally sense it, Sydney didn’t give a damn about him if she could tell him that it only meant she was giving up on them.
“Is there something I can do to make you see me as important as your job or as important as your connection with Paxton?” he asked.
“You are important to me and I don’t know why you compare yourself with your brother every single time.
I would be elated to work with you the same way I work with Paxton if you showed much interest in the. company the same way he did Jax, stop trying to throw me under the bus I beg of you” she pleaded.
“Oh so now I am throwing you under the bus when you are indeed the person who is looking for ways to end what we have?”
“Jax, no I am not trying to end what we have but your actions and words are, who pulls his girlfriend now and then just to tell her to stay off his brother? Why do you feel inferior to Paxton, you both are brothers and twins for that matter I don’t see why you should behave as though he had stolen something from you” she said in one go and then finally caught her breath.
“Oh” was all he could say for now.
“Yes Jaxton Oh, why would you keep hurting me this wag, why would you keep humiliating me at every single chance you get?”
“I am sorry I didn’t know you were getting hurt by my actions Sydney, babe I am sorry” he pleaded but she was done talking for now so she turned and told him to leave.
“Leave Jax, I don’t want us to go back and with and say regretful things to each other so please leave”
“Sydney, please, don’t do this” he begged but she was already standing at the door with it wide open and she just wanted him to go out so she could crawl to bed and cry out the whole night.
He had done the worst and having to come to crash her moment of peace had made her continue having a great rethink of everything that was arising.
The night which was supposed to end beautifully had crumbled and she didn’t know what to say or do at the moment but cry her eyes out.
