Chapter 1124
Chapter 1124:
“Why didn’t you come to me?” Harlee asked gently.
After Rhys’ accident, Tiffany had visited Harlee multiple times, genuinely concerned about Harlee’s well-being.
But after that, she vanished from Harlee’s life.
Caught up in her own struggles, Harlee failed to notice the silence growing between them until years passed. If not for Liliana stepping into the entertainment scene, Harlee might never have crossed paths with Tiffany again—or realized the depth of Tiffany’s suffering.
At Harlee’s question, Tiffany flushed with embarrassment, lowering her gaze as her fingers nervously played with the hem of her sleeve.
Harlee gently placed her hand over Tiffany’s.
“Was it because of Clint?”
Tiffany let out a bitter laugh.
“I knew you’d figure it out.” During Harlee’s darkest days, Tiffany had been targeted by ruthless online attacks.
A single photo showing Tiffany standing near Clint had spiraled out of control, igniting malicious rumors that she had used unscrupulous means to further her career. The internet erupted with accusations, completely disregarding the dedication and effort she had poured into her work. Like parasites, people latched onto her story, spewing hateful comments and tearing her reputation apart, showing no mercy.
Clint had addressed the public directly, admitting that he had been the one chasing after Tiffany, while she hadn’t reciprocated his feelings. Yet, in the hostile online space, facts were irrelevant. People clung stubbornly to their beliefs, ignoring anything that didn’t align with their preconceived notions.

Following Clint’s remarks, the animosity grew worse. Tiffany was unfairly cast as the antagonist, incapable of doing anything right in the eyes of others.
Tiffany’s resilience cracked under the relentless onslaught. What stung even more was that Clint’s genuine attempt to defend her felt like a double-edged blade. In her fragile state, it seemed less like support and more like an unbearable weight, threatening to crush her entirely. Over time, her anxiety worsened to the point where interacting with anyone outside her family triggered severe panic or self-harm.
Eventually, Tiffany completely isolated herself.
For a full year, she hadn’t left her home, shutting herself away from a world that had been mercilessly cruel.
“It’s nothing—it’s all behind me now.
Honestly, I never thought we’d cross paths again,” Tiffany said with a dismissive smile. If Harlee hadn’t made an effort to reach out, she might never have reconnected with the Sandersons.
Tiffany reluctantly admitted why she had rejected Clint’s feelings—she believed she wasn’t worthy of him.
Harlee’s kindness and her spontaneous requests for help gave Tiffany a sense of purpose she hadn’t felt in a long time.
Holding Tiffany’s hand gently, Harlee said, “I’m sorry. Life got so busy, and I didn’t make time to visit you.” Harlee hadn’t been aware of the full extent of Tiffany’s struggles. Tiffany had pleaded with Clint to keep it from Harlee, not wanting to add to Harlee’s burdens during an already difficult period.
Harlee had assumed that Tiffany’s absence stemmed from Clint’s confession and wasn’t sure if they could still be friends.
