Chapter 51
Chapter 51
Seeing Kylah, who was known for being tough cry, Chad became flustered. He quickly handed her a handkerchief. "Don't cry! You kept scolding Arthur and I, so shouldn't we be the ones crying?"
"Don't pretend to be nice!" Kylah flung the handkerchief back to him without hesitation.
The handkerchief hit Chad in the face and his temper flared again. However, when he took the handkerchief away and saw her makeup that was smudged from crying, his heart softened! He was defenseless against crying women!
Right then, a policeman answered a phone call. After a while, he shouted at the bickering trio, "There's news on Ms. Morgan!"
"Speak!" Arthur, who had looked like he was in his own faraway world, rushed to the policeman's side at once. He braced his hands on the desk, and his bloodshot eyes made him look like a wild beast.
He was like someone who already had one foot off the cliff, and Lucy was the one rope that held him back.
Once she was gone, the rope would be broken, and he would fall into a depthless abyss!
The policeman took a step back in fright while his heart pounded wildly. He nearly fell to the floor.
He had worked quite a few major cases and come across ruthless criminals, but even those criminals weren't as terrifying as Arthur!
Kylah was stunned for a moment before she ran over. "Officer, what's the news? Tell us, quick!"
"Oh, so...a citizen found a car the thugs abandoned in the outskirts. We should be able to find clues from that car." The policeman had to avoid Arthur's gaze to be able to speak normally again.
Arthur grabbed his collar and stuck his stormy face close to his. "Where's the car?"
Every word sounded fierce.
The policeman's hairs stood on end, and the feeling of something blocking his throat came back. He wanted to speak, but he couldn't say a word.
Chad hurried forward and used all his strength to pry Arthur's hands away. "Arthur, don't be so worked- up. Let him talk slowly."
Chad was worried looking at Arthur, who was completely different from his usual self. Chad was afraid that if something happened to Lucy again, Arthur would fall apart.
After all, he had seen how Arthur had survived those five years.
...
Her head felt heavy, and she was a little dizzy.
Her scalp hurt very much and so did her leg.
Moreover, something wet and slimy brushed along her leg, making her get goosebumps.
When Lucy's eyes flew open, she saw Troy touching her calf in a perverted way, and his two fingers that were coated in dirt were slowly moving upwards.
Thud!
She sat up and butted his head with hers.
Perhaps her attack was too swift and too aggressive, or maybe her skull was really hard, but she only felt a little dizzy while Troy fell down right away.
"B*tch!" When Ron opened the door, he saw Troy lying on the floor. He went up and slapped Lucy fiercely on her face that was already swollen.
Lucy coughed and spat out a mouthful of blood.
It was clearly daytime, and she had slept for pretty long. Nevertheless, she felt dizzy and on the verge of falling into deep slumber at any time.
She bit down hard on the inside of her cheek and didn't stop even when her skin broke. Only when the pain sobered her up did she let go.
Troy got up and kicked Lucy in the chest. "B*tch, stop acting all pure and posh! It's your blessing that I want to f*ck you!"
Lucy felt as though her organs were jumbled up, and the taste of blood roiled up. She could no longer tell which part of her hurt. She was hurting all over.
She struggled to get up, but she couldn't speak clearly because of her swollen face. "You guys can't get the money because you can't reach Lizbeth...cough! I can give you double, and I won't call the cops."
"You b*tch, how dare you eavesdrop on us!" Troy grabbed her hair. There was already blood on her scalp. "Let me tell you what, I already reached her! Byrd says that if we make a video, she'll pay me five million dollars! Double? Can you even afford to pay that much money with your puny company?"
The agony made Lucy's tears fall, and her heart sank lower.
It seemed like they had contacted Lizbeth in the time she had been unconscious and even investigated her background...or maybe Lizbeth had told them!
"Ron, won't you look at that? What did I tell you?" Troy ripped that fistful of hair from her head and put it to his nose. "This b*tch was trying to lie to us!"
Lucy hissed in pain, and her limbs couldn't stop shaking.
Was she really going to die like this? Did she even have to be recorded doing unspeakable things before dying?
"Don't kill her, we still have to record a video! If you make me earn less, I won't let you off the hook even if you're my brother!" Ron took out a camera from the bulging bag he was carrying.
Troy released Lucy meekly, his expression wary. He quickly did all the work and set up the camera.
Lucy looked at the black camera and felt very dizzy. Maybe she was hungry or she had lost too much blood, or Ron had kicked her too hard.
But... she didn't want to admit defeat just like that!
"Hey, you guys know Lizbeth's identity, but she's not worried about you exposing her at all, know why?" Her voice was very hoarse and low, but Ron heard her and something struck him.
Troy had weaker control than Ron. "Why?"
"Because," Lucy chuckled. It sounded eerie coupled with her bloodied face. "I have a disease! After you have s*x with me, you'll die from the diseases too. Lizbeth won't even have to kill you herself!"
"B*tch, are you... are you telling the truth?" Troy was scared.
Ron snorted. "Did you think we'd fall for that? If you really had a disease, how would other men dare to f*ck you?"
He had seen the hickeys all over her body with his own eyes. When they had kidnapped her, she must have just finished doing the deed with someone!
Troy immediately looked at her darkly, ready to strike her any time.

All the officers at the station set out to collect fingerprints and analyze footprints to glean any useful clues they could.
However, the kidnappers had been very careful and left no fingerprints in the car. Meanwhile, their footprints were only enough to determine their height and weight, which couldn't lead the police to the suspects quickly.
Arthur didn't rest all night. His chin was shaded with stubble and his hair was messy. Even his shirt that was always tidy was wrinkled.
He looked out at the bustling crime scene that offered no clues and felt intense regret.
It was already the umpteenth time he had regretted it. If he hadn't left Lucy, this wouldn't have happened!
"Arthur, Max already looked into it. Your enemies are off the suspect list, even Lucy's. She always does things rightfully, and she doesn't have any obvious enemies in the business world either."
Chad yawned. He was so tired from not getting any sleep that night. He didn't know how Arthur was still so energetic.
