Jessica’s feeling
Jessica calmed down when she heard the knock on the door. The maid’s voice called out to her softly.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“Come in,” Jessica told her, she wiped away the tears that wet her cheeks right.
The door opened, and the maid arrived with a tray of breakfast for Jessica. The woman walked over, and put the tray on the desk.
“Miss Jessica, eat first. Mrs. Anna asked me to bring you some food!” the maid said by observing Jessica. After waking up, Jessica’s condition was not getting better but getting worse. “Do I have to call Mr. Lexi, you have to see the doctor Miss,” the maid checked Jessica’s forehead and the temperature went up than before.
“Don’t worry, I’m okay!” Jessica answered. She was not ready to meet with Lexi, more precisely, not ready to express the questions that Cassandra threw at her mother-in-law.
“Emm, is Miss still nauseous?” the maid asked. She thought Jessica was getting pregnant.
“No, it’s not nauseous, but I’m not hungry yet so I’ll eat later!” Jessica was laying in bed.
“How many times have you felt nauseous in the morning?” the maid investigated. She was sure with little suspicion that Jessica was pregnant.
“Every morning, it’s just been a blast!” Jessica wiped the sweat on her forehead. Lately, she did feel nauseous in the morning. She did not suspect because every night she accompanied and served her husband.
“Miss, have you had your period yet? the middle-aged woman asked.
Jessica closed her eyes and began to remember the last time she had her period. She hadn’t come this month.
“Did you get that this month?” the maid insisted.
Jessica chose not to answer. Her heart was still troubled by Cassandra’s question.
“This, my phone is not working. Can I ask you a favor?” she asked. She didn’t know when Lexi did it. The man had thrown away his cell phone number, minimizing her contact with Chelsea. He didn’t let her go alone, going to meet people who were no longer known.
“How about Miss?” Knowing Jessica was only an orphanage child, even if Jessica was not her employer, the maid would always be willing to help Jessica.
“Please call Chelsea, tell her to come over here and get me a pregnant test,” Jessica said. She looked at the maid. She didn’t know the maid was on her side or Lexi’s side, but she was obviously always nice to her.
“Okay,” she replied eagerly.
“Oh yes, about this please do not tell mom or my husband, okay?” Jessica asked. Honestly, after hearing Cassandra’s question to her mom, distrust and doubt began to creep into her heart.
“Yes, Miss.”
The maid came out of Jessica’s room. She would do what Jessica said.
The woman was now in the room alone. Immersed in her own thoughts. She was thinking about what really happened! Lexi, if you remember the attitude of the man, sometimes still gray.
‘Is it true that Lexi is just pretending to love him?’
‘Then, all this is just a charade and there must be an end, right?’
‘And the hard question is, is Lexi doing this just to get a child? Then, he will throw Jessica away just like that once his wish is achieved!’
Jessica, massaging her eyebrows that felt dizzy. She looked at her phone that didn’t work. Her mind drifted, remembering Daniel Kim. Yes, the man she met yesterday afternoon. It was like she had heard that name. It was like no stranger, let alone the look in her eyes. Although it looked firm, there was a calmness that could be seen there. One more thing, despite the thousands of times she tried to remember, Jessica still did not remember her parents’ names.
However, she still vaguely remembered her face. “Dad, mom, where are you?” Jessica mumbled softly hitting the right side of her head. She still didn’t remember his parents ‘ names.

Thirty minutes later, when Jessica had just finished cleaning herself in the bathroom, Chelsea had arrived, and was with the maid already waiting in her room.
“Been waiting a long time?” Jessica asked as she walked over to her friend.
“I just came?” Chelsea could feel something wasn’t right with Jessica.
“I will go, later if you need something, just call me,” the maid said.
“Okay,” Jessica said and led Chelsea to sit on the edge of the bed.
“What happened? What can I do to help you?” Chelsea asked after the door closed again.
“I think I’m pregnant. You brought the pregnant test I asked for?” Jessica didn’t look happy.
“Why? Are you unhappy with your pregnancy? Tell me what’s bothering you! Isn’t this also what you expected, to be a good and useful wife for Ricardo’s family!” Chelsea looked straight at her best friend’s two eyeballs.
“It is not like that,” Jessica folded her arms in front of her chest. Then she turned around and her body was still weak.
“So, have you changed your mind and are you going to leave Mr. Lexi?” Chelsea investigated.
“No, I don’t know Daniel Kim. He doesn’t even know my parents! So I won’t just trust him right away!” That’s how she felt. If Daniel Kim is indeed a member of her family, there is no need for the man to tell her to leave Lexi.
“Then tell me, what is bothering your mind?” Chelsea insisted.
Jessica was stunned. There was no way she could tell that Lexi was just pretending to love him. Chelsea would have instantly told him to go with Daniel Kim. “I’m afraid, afraid of not being able to make Lexi happy!” Jessica said.
“That’s it?” Chelsea, who has been close to Jessica for a dozen years, felt that there was a lie in Jessica’s answer. However, she would not corner her again.
Jessica nodded slowly. If Chelsea hadn’t sided with Daniel Kim, Jessica would have talked about what she heard to Chelsea.
“Now, if you are afraid that you will not be able to make your husband happy, then after the pregnancy test, and the result is positive. Surprise Mr. Lexi, I’m sure it’s not just Mr. Lexi. However, all members of Ricardo’s family will be happy to hear of your pregnancy,” Chelsea said. That’s how she knew.
“Yes.”
“So it’s true you won’t see Daniel Kim again?” Chelsea asked to make sure.
“No, I didn’t even get any clue about my parents!” Jessica replied realistically. What she heard yesterday was just a babble without evidence.
“What if Daniel is indeed a member of your family Jess, doesn’t that mean you missed the opportunity to meet your parents?” Chelsea was convinced that Daniel Kim is a member of Jessica’s family.
“He doesn’t have any evidence! He only had a picture of me when I was six! There’s no way I could just believe it!” the wife of Lexi Ricardo answered.
“Well, it’s not that I’m siding with Daniel Kim. But I’m going to ask for proof that he does know where your parents are Jess,” Chelsea said confidently.
“Why are you so sure that he knows where my parents are!”
“Because, a person like Daniel, he is not a person who will lie. Anyway what advantage he lies. She’s not Lexi Ricardo marrying you to use you Jess!” Chelsea knew what she said just hurt Jessica. But she needed to tell her the chance.
Jessica pondered, what Chelsea said was true. Was what she heard from Cassandra also a truth?
“So? You think I should leave Lexi and go with Daniel Kim?” Jessica began to have doubts about Lexi.
“The answer was in your own heart Jess. I’m going to see Daniel, at least I’m going to ask for proof that you believe he knows where your parents are, Jess!”
Jessica shut up. Her own brain couldn’t work well together. She didn’t remember his parents names at all.
