Chapter 959 It's Better To Marry A Man Who Is Good To You

When they were waiting for the arrival of the wedding dresses, Anya passed the coffee made by the staff to Cindy. "How is your father?"

"He's fine. He had a heart attack and was hospitalized for a week. After he was discharged yesterday, he felt that he couldn't live long and wanted me to get married soon." Cindy took the coffee and sighed. She had never thought about how difficult it was to shoulder the whole family's burden alone.

She felt such pressure for the first time after her father was sick.

During the week of her father's hospitalization, she shouldered all the business and had to attend lectures at the same time. It almost drained her.

In the end, she suspended the class and she would restart it tomorrow.

She felt that she had to have someone to rely on, but she didn't want to accept Dexter.

He was a loyal man and was good to her.

However, she had no feelings for him and didn't feel like making progress.

"Don't pressure yourself. Since your dad is discharged, it means that he is okay. As for the engagement ... I don't want you to push yourself because marriage is a lifetime matter."

Cindy understood that, but the reality didn't allow that. Though her father left the hospital, he was in worse health and she could no longer be a willful young lady who would do nothing except spending money.

She had to take responsibility and couldn't do everything as she pleased.

"My father is satisfied with such a good man. He persuaded me to accept him, but I have an eye on another man..."

As she spoke, Cindy's mood became worse. She thought that she didn't deserve Dexter. He was so gentle to her yet she was still thinking about Raymond.

She felt so bad.

She felt that she failed his sincerity.

"So, you still have Raymond in your heart?" Anya sighed.

She knew that Raymond was the problem.

Speaking of which, Anya had little contact with Raymond. She only met him twice because of Cohen's matter and she discovered that he was quite charming.

Nevertheless, he didn't like Cindy, and she couldn't do anything about it.

Anya thought that if a woman couldn't marry the man she loved, she'd better marry one who was good to her.

Relationships could be nurtured.

Dexter was not bad, and Cindy just needed time to forget about Raymond.

"Yeah," Cindy admitted frankly.

"Do you want to hear the truth?"

Cindy smiled bitterly and was prepared for Anya's lecture. "Go ahead. I came to you for your scolding so that I will let go of my obsession."

"I won't scold you." Anya smiled at her humble posture, trying to calm her down. "I mean, it's better to marry a man who is good to you. If you marry someone who doesn't love you, you won't have a happy marriage and you even can't see him. Do you want such a life?

"I think the engagement to Dexter can wait. You have to let go of Raymond and open your mind to accept Dexter. You think you can't accept him because of Raymond, right? You have to either let Raymond go or make yourself clear with Dexter. I think he means to marry you.

"It's just my advice, and the choice is yours."

Anya slowly finished it and Cindy's eyes reddened. She felt so complicated in her heart. Anya was indeed her bestie as she hit the nail on the head. This was the reason for the dilemma.

Cindy sniffed and pressed her sockets to prevent herself from crying. She couldn't weep for she would put a damper on such a happy occasion. She held back and said, "Anya, you are right. I can't keep Dexter waiting. Otherwise, I will be no different from a sub girl."

"I will let Raymond go and from now on, I will try accepting Dexter."

Anya reached out to hug her. "I'm glad to hear that.

"Don't be sad. You will always be happy."

Cindy couldn't help laughing out for Anya comforted her in the way she coaxed a kid. Actually, she just needed to vent the emotions out and she would be happy after that. "Yeah, I will be happy forever."

Just as Cindy finished, the manager and two staff came with three luxurious wedding dresses. "Mrs. Welton, the wedding dresses are all here."

Anya glanced at them. Their designers must be masters for they were so beautiful.

She took Cindy's arm and said, "Go try on the wedding dress with me."

Cindy relaxed, nodded, and went in with her.
