Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1444

...

Jackson was undeniably handsome; when he smiled, his eyes seemed to hold a warmth that could melt anyone's heart. Casually leaning against the car door, he cast a laid-back glance at the female doctor, making her cheeks flush without even trying. She thought Jackson was genuinely going to stand up for her, to help her out. When he referred to Fiona as "the little lady," she assumed Jackson was Fiona's brother.

"I had a minor misunderstanding with Ms. Fiona at the hospital," she quickly explained. "I've already apologized, but she still won't let it go..."

The female doctor couldn't help but get choked up, "Sir, you know how tough it is to get through medical school. Could you please talk to Ms. Fiona and ask her not to hold a grudge?"

She recounted the hospital incident from her perspective, naturally painting herself as the innocent victim. Jackson listened quietly until she finished, then he spoke slowly, "Alright, I understand the situation. My little lady might have handled it a bit lightly. I'll take care of it." The female doctor was thrilled at his words! Her heart fluttered like a deer caught in headlights!

She had thought her luck was terrible today, but meeting Jackson changed everything. Having such a handsome man willing to help her made her believe she must be quite charming. Could he possibly like her?

Her face turned even redder as she softly said, "Thank you, sir. Could we exchange contact information? Maybe we could have dinner together sometime."

She extended her phone towards him, confident he wouldn't refuse. But Jackson simply gave her a cold glance, then walked around to the other side of the car, got in, and started the engine.

The female doctor could only watch as the car drove away, her hand awkwardly suspended in mid-air. He had actually refused...noveldrama

But she didn't dwell on it. In her eyes,

Jackson was just the type who played it cool. He might seem indifferent, but she believed he had already taken a liking to her. Otherwise, why would he have helped?

Proudly, she tucked a strand of hair

behind her ear, put her phone back in her bag, and headed back into the hospital. Her disciplinary action should be lifted now.

Inside the car, Fiona sat in the passenger seat, sipping water, and curiously asked Jackson, "What did you say to her?"

The windows were up, so she couldn't hear their conversation, but she clearly saw the female doctor leave in high spirits, seemingly overjoyed.

"Not much," Jackson smiled. "I just explained how wrong she was, and she realized her mistake."

"Really?" Fiona was surprised. That woman seemed so out of touch, yet she managed to see her error?

"She said she's really thankful to you

for helping her realize how absurdly wrong she was," Jackson maintained his smile, speaking lightly as if telling a harmless fib, his voice carrying a hint of amusement, "She's decided to resign from the hospital when she gets back, planning to re-educate herself and meet you again in the best state possible."

Fiona: "?"

What on earth? Why did that sound so fantastical?
