Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1601

"Even if this is just a draft, I absolutely adore it! I can't wait to get it to the factory to see how the final product turns out," said Nash's mother, her excitement

bubbling over.

Fiona just smiled, knowing how much Nash's mom cherished these designs. She leaned back on the plush couch, nodding off for a bit. Nash's mom stayed put, admiring the sketches until Fiona was sound asleep. Then, she tiptoed out to avoid waking her.

As she made her way downstairs, Nash glanced up expectantly. His brow furrowed when he didn't spot Fiona trailing behind.

"It's dinner time already, where is she?" he muttered, a hint of impatience in his voice.

Nash's mom shushed him and pulled him onto the living room couch. "Hush now, don't wake her up. All you think about is food. Can you focus on something else for once?"

She shot a quick look at Jackson, who was relaxing with his eyes shut, then slipped into the dining room. After whispering some instructions to the staff, she returned, satisfied.

Fiona woke up around six-thirty to the mouth-watering aroma of dinner filling the air. Her stomach growled in response to the delicious scents.

Rubbing her empty stomach, she joined everyone at the dinner table, which was loaded with her favorite dishes. Someone had even peeled shrimp for her. She caught Jackson's eye just as he was taking off his gloves and, on a whim, popped a shrimp into his mouth.

"Big brother eats first," she teased.

Jackson swallowed with a chuckle. "Tastes great, just like you like it."

Nash's mom watched them with a smile, thinking to herself how Fiona really had a way with people.noveldrama

Jackson's grin widened, while his mom threw a glance at Nash, who seemed completely engrossed in his meal. If she waited for him to start a family, she might be waiting forever.

"After dinner, I should probably head home," Fiona said, serving herself some stew. "It's getting late, and I don't want to miss my bedtime."

"Why not stay over at the Woods' place tonight?" Nash's mom suggested. "We've got plenty of rooms; take your pick. Honestly, all our cars are either in the shop or getting maintenance. I'm worried about you heading out alone at night. It's not safe for a young lady like you."

Nash set his bowl down, looking at his mom in disbelief. "When did all our cars suddenly break down?"

"Quiet, you little rascal."

"Couldn't we just use the car my brother drove today?" Fiona offered.

"Oh, that one? No luck there. Nash's dad took it to the airport to pick someone up. We're all out of cars right now."

Fiona wasn't buying it, but she didn't want to call her out. Still, she wasn't keen on staying over.

"In that case, Mrs. Woods, I remember there's a spot just outside the neighborhood where I can catch a cab. I'll just take a taxi home."
