Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1683

Hearing this, Scott's face changed, clearly riled up by Kimberly's words. In a flash, he was on his feet, making his way over to where Kimberly and Fiona werenoveldrama

seated.

"You've got a way to get me back with the main branch of the Woods family?" he asked.

"I did, a second ago," Kimberly replied with a sudden smile, her eyes icy cold. A smirk curled on her lips as she added, "But not anymore."

When Kimberly mentioned she had a plan to help him return to the main branch of the Woods family, Scott's face lit up with hope. But her last five words knocked him off balance.

He would give anything to get back his spot in the main branch. His years in the Capital had been nothing but frustrating; all ambition and no outlet, a huge blow to his pride. And to top it off, the Capital seemed like nothing compared to the States

in his eyes.

Turning to Fiona, he said, "Ms. Fiona, I was wrong to doubt you. Please, don't take it to heart."

"It's alright," Fiona replied with a gentle smile, her eyes measuring him.

Scott sure had a way with words, able to adapt and bend—a man who could achieve great things.

After Scott apologized to Fiona, Kimberly visibly relaxed. Before, her face might as well have had "I'm not happy" written all over it.

"Let's dig in," she said.

After dinner, Jackson drove Fiona back to her school. She had classes early the next morning, and it was getting pretty late. Plus, Fiona loved her sleep, and she'd definitely be late if she didn't get enough rest.

Besides, Jackson had been swamped with work lately. He had an early flight the next morning to negotiate a business deal overseas.

He didn't trust anyone else to take her.

"Brother, you don't have to go out of your way to drop me off. It's a

hassle for you to make the trip back," Fiona said, watching Jackson start the car with a concerned look. "You've been looking tired lately. Those dark circles aren't doing you any favors."

Jackson laughed, teasing her, "Seems like Fiona only likes me for my looks."

"Not true! I like you because there's something about you that just draws people

in."

She wasn't shy about it; it wasn't

something to hide. Her affection for Jackson was as clear as day. When she glanced at him, she was surprised to see a blush creeping onto his cheeks, even the tips of his ears were turning red.

"Brother, you're... blushing," she pointed out.

Feeling a bit awkward, Jackson pulled over and grabbed an unopened bottle of water, gulping it down. Once he finished, the redness on his face had mostly faded, though a faint hint lingered.

"Brother..."

Fiona couldn't help but smile, realizing how easily he blushed.

"Just thirsty, needed some water," Jackson Stammered, pulling the car to a stop three minutes from the schoofgate. Fiona pulled out a small gift box, revealing a simple red-thread bracelet inside,

"Brother, be careful while you're abroad this time. I heard it's not very safe there

right now. I hope this bracelet will keep you company in my place."

She looked around, then quickly leaned over and planted a kiss on Jackson's cheek.
