Sixty Four
Something is happening to me.
Something strange, and I don’t like it.
I have never felt an emotion called jealousy before and right now, that’s what I’m feeling. Jealousy. I’m at Oceanside and Suites private beach, dressed in a one-piece white beach wear that brings out my curves and accentuates my breasts.
I came out here to escape this strange feeling of jealousy that I’m feeling right now all because I found out Aimee and Dominique have slept with each other before and Aimee is just throwing it at my face to make me mad and she’s succeeding.
With sunglasses on, I turn toward a familiar high-pitched giggle as I burn holes into her skin with my eyes. Aimee is talking with Dominique, her hands all over his body and he seems to be enjoying it.
“You know you’re torturing yourself, right?” A deep voice says beside me as I whip my head around, locking eyes with a pair of brown eyes that belong to Lorenzo.
He’s sitting on the sun lounger next to mine as he pushes his sunglasses into his hair. I shamelessly run my gaze over his toned torso that is bare. He’s shirtless, and both his arms are covered in colorful tattoos that end in his wrists. There are a few tattoos across his chest, the writings bleed into the tattoos on his arms.
Boy, this man is good-looking and attractive. But he’s nothing compared to Dominique and not to mention Dominique’s got me wrapped around his fingers and I didn’t know that until now.
God, He’s messing with my head.
“Hey,” he smiles at me.
“Hi.”
“I have not officially introduced myself to you. I’m Lorenzo. Dominique’s cousin.”NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
“Yeah. I know. I’m Robyn.”
Lorenzo smirks and runs his eyes over my body, pleased by how I look. “So you and Dominique, huh?”
I exhale and shift my gaze toward Aimee and Dominique. Aimee has been doing the talking and from Dominique’s body language, he’s had enough. Or maybe that’s what he wants me to see. The scene is hurting my eyes, so I turn away to stare at the beach.
“Yeah.”
“Hmm. God, you’re not a very good liar, are you?”
“What do you mean?” I turn to look at Lorenzo.
“I mean one look at you, it’s pretty obvious you’re not his girlfriend. I don’t think Dominique will easily commit to anyone.”
“Well, you’re wrong. We’re dating.”
“Yeah? Then what’s he doing over there with Aimee when he’s supposed to be here with you? Should I also add that what happened between the two of them was more than casual, at least for Aimee. She’s so in love with Dom, I can barely comprehend why.” Lorenzo says, his gaze fixed on Aimee and Dominique not too far from us before he brings his gaze back to my eyes.
“You’re a beautiful woman, Robyn. You should be having fun, not playing Dominique Gray’s pretend girlfriend.”
“Why don’t you let me worry about that?”
Lorenzo chuckles, his teeth white and perfect. He’s got a good dentist, I give him that.
“Sure. If you wanna have fun, I’m available. I like you, Robyn.”
“In case you’re forgetting, I’m with Dominique.”
“Yeah, fucking Emilio. He always gets the good stuff, huh?” Lorenzo mutters as he rubs his knuckles on his stubble.
He smiles again and shifts his gaze to something behind me. Obviously, it’s Aimee and Dominique that’s got his attention.
“So I’m gonna go because your boyfriend is heading toward us. You should think about what I told you.” Lorenzo wears his sunglasses and stands up as he walks away.
I turn my head around to stare at Dominique as I watch him walk toward where I’m sitting with a blank expression on his face as he holds my gaze. I try to look away, but like every other person on this beach, I find it hard to peel my eyes off this alluring man. The few times I’ve been around him, I’ve noticed he commands attention to himself wherever he goes. As he walks, he exudes an irresistible allure that captivates the people around him. His piercing blue eyes hold a hint of mystery and danger which only draws people in. People like me. No matter how hard I’ve tried to stay away from him, I can’t. Because something keeps pulling me closer. He knows how to push my buttons and how to get under my skin, something no one else has ever figured out. And he knows the right words to say that leave me putty in his hands.
And beneath all the facade of wealth and power, Dominique Gray is a caring and loving man, maybe a little bit manipulative, but he’s a great guy and I hate that a part of me is slowly falling for that guy.
I look away from him as he nears me and I pick up the Cosmopolitan magazine I picked up from the hotel reception, open a random page, and pretend to go through it just to avoid Dominique.
The sunlounger Lorenzo was occupying just a few minutes ago shifts under a new weight. I know it’s him. His mesmerizing scent fills my brain and heat rushes to my face. Thanks to the magazine in my hands and the beach straw hat I’m wearing that shields my face from him.
“You seem busy.” His gruff voice says. His warm breath tickles my ear and I notice he’s a lot closer to me than I’d like.
“What are you doing?” I ask, not looking at him as I hold my breath, the butterflies in my belly somersaulting.
“Trying to look at what you’re reading.”
I drop the magazine on my thighs and turn to look at him, my face nearly slamming into his. I draw in a sharp breath at our close proximity. Slowly, Dominique reaches forward and removes my sunglasses as he looks into my eyes.
“Now I can see you.” He whispers as he drops his gaze to the magazine on my thighs.
“Don’t ask,” I glare at him as I turn to look at the ocean up ahead. “I picked it up from the reception because I needed something to keep me busy.”
Dominique chuckles. “Okay. Nice swimsuit though. It looks good on you.”
“I know,” I say as I turn to give him a smug smile.
“Did you also know a lot of men couldn’t peel their eyes off of you?” Dominique asks, his piercing blue eyes locked onto mine as he shifts his gaze to my lips, down to my tits.
“Ah! You noticed. That’s a surprise considering Aimee was all over you.” I say and look away, my eyes fixed on the beach and the people running toward the wave.
Dominique chuckles. His laughter only made me more mad. “Were you jealous?” I was jealous but he doesn’t have to know that.
“I don’t care who you flirt with, Dominique,” I say as I turn to flash him a smug smile even though I definitely care.
“Aimee likes attention.”
“Yeah. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that you fucked her.” The words leave my mouth before I can stop them.
I bite down on my bottom lip as I look away at once. Why did I just say that? Why? Why? Why, Robyn? If he doesn’t believe I was jealous before, now he does, and all thanks to yours truly because I don’t know when to keep my emotions in check.
“Robyn, look at me.”
“No.”
Dominique exhales and holds my chin as he tilts my head around so that I’m looking at him. I glare at him but Dominique doesn’t care.
“God, you look sexy when you’re mad.”
I swat his arm but that doesn’t make him let go of my chin. Dominique chuckles as I glare at him. When his laugh dies, he licks his bottom lip and looks at me. “Like I said, Aimee likes attention and she likes it when people give her attention. What happened between Aimee and me was a long time ago and it was meaningless. It was a one-time thing. I was drunk, I let my guard down and the rest of that night was a blur. Aimee means nothing to me and she knows that what we had was nothing more than a casual hookup.”
“Yeah? But Aimee doesn’t think so.”
Dominique smirks as he shifts his gaze to my lips for a second before he brings his gaze back to my eyes. “You know you can admit you’re jealous, right?”
“You wish.” I glare harder as Dominique holds my gaze. He sighs and lets go of my chin as he leans back.
“What were you and Lorenzo talking about?”
“Nothing that concerns you.”
“I know I can’t tell you what to do but I don’t like the way he looks at you.”
“Are you jealous?”
Dominique leans forward, his elbows on his knees as he whispers, “I am.”
His reply catches me off guard and he notices it too. “I get angry when other men look at you, Robyn. I should be the only one who gets to look at you and admire how beautiful you are.”
