His Games, Her Rules

Twenty Eight

“Doctor.” Dominique addresses Doctor Sanders with a tight-lipped smile.

Doctor Sanders nods. “Mr. Gray. To what do we owe your visit?”

“If you don’t mind, I’d like to have a word with Miss Denver.”

“Okay.” Doctor Sanders says, matching Dominique’s conflicting gaze.

“Alone.” Dominique grits out, still wearing a devilish smirk as he stares at Doctor Sanders.

I sigh, trying so hard not to facepalm in front of these men. What are they doing?

“Can we talk some other time, Doctor Sanders?” I ask, giving the doctor a small smile.

He sighs, locking eyes with me as if asking me if he should leave or not. I nod in agreement. Doctor Sanders watches me for a second and nods as he stands up.

“Thanks for the food,” I add.

Doctor Sanders gives Dominique a stink eye as he sidesteps the billionaire and walks away. Dominique sits down on the now empty seat as he unbuttons his suit jacket. I look around, and just like I expected, some of the doctors, nurses, and hospital guests are watching us, but they look away when they catch me staring back.

“That wasn’t necessary though,” I say, turning to look at Dominique who’s already staring at me.

“Do you like him?” He asks out of the blue, his eyes dark as he watches me.

“What?”

“Richard Sanders, do you like him?”

“Professionally, yes,” I answer, trying to wrap my head around his sudden possessive behavior.

“So you don’t want to fuck him?” Now, that question caught me off guard.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I whisperyell at Dominique.

“He wants to fuck you and he’s not being subtle about it. I think you know of his intentions but yet you seem to be enjoying his advances toward you.”

“Is that so? I can’t believe you just called me an attention-seeking whore without actually saying it,” I say, fuming at his nerves. “You’re a fucking asshole.” I proceed to stand up, but Dominique suddenly wraps his hand around my wrist and gestures for me to sit down.

I look at his hand around my arm and he follows my gaze. I jerk away, hating the fact that that little contact sent electricity through my spine as I sat down. Under the table, I wrap my right hand around my wrist, right on the spot where Dominique held me as I glared at him. I try to ignore the burning sensation at the contact and I have a feeling he felt it too.

Dominique exhales, eyes locked on nothing in particular as he brings his gaze back to me.

“I never called you an attention-seeking whore.”

“You implied it.” I point out.

He raises his eyebrows for a brief second before he looks away from me, staring at nothing as he shifts his gaze back to me.

“Richard likes you and he wants to fuck you. You’re not dumb so I believe you’re smart to know his true intentions.” Wait a second, is he jealous of Doctor Sanders?

“Why don’t you let me worry about that.”

There’s a short silence, with our eyes locked in an intense gaze that is obviously doing strange things to me. Why does he have to look at me like that though? Like he wants to pull me to himself and rip my clothes apart.

Damnit, Robyn, slow down with the filthy thoughts.

Dominique’s lips curl into a smirk as he chuckles. “Jealous? Of the good doctor?”

“Mm-hm.”

Still smirking, Dominique exhales deeply. “Then you really don’t know me at all.”

“Is that so? Then why do you care if Doctor Sanders wants to fuck me? And what does it matter to you if I want the same thing?”

“Oh, I know you don’t want the same thing. He’s not your type.”

“And how would you know my type?”

“I know you don’t like spineless men who can’t make you feel like your whole body is on fire. You want a man who can do things to you, Robyn. A man who can make you feel things and that doctor, he’s not up to the task, is he?” He whispers every word as he looks into my eyes, daring me to deny his claims.

“And you’re that man?” I whisper, leaning forward as I match his scrutinizing gaze that can see through me.

Dominique pulls away from his chair as he leans forward, his lips a few inches apart from mine. He brushes his fingers against mine as he shifts his gaze from my eyes to my lips, lingering on my lips for a long minute before he brings his gaze to meet my eyes. “You know… you can always find out.”

I don’t say a word, not because I don’t have anything to say, but because I need to remind myself that I’m playing his games. And boy is he good?

I lean back, not backing down from our heated gaze as I place my left thigh over my right thigh.

I hate this. I hate that my body is responding to every filthy thing he’s saying. I hate that I know I have to stay away from him, but my body is saying otherwise. Dominique Gray is bad news, I know that, but why the fuck does he make me feel this way? Electricity coursing through my body, the burning desire, and the constant feeling of need and the release that I crave from him and only him. The feeling is overwhelming and I don’t know how to react. I think part of the reason I am feeling this way is because I haven’t had sex in a while so it’s normal to respond this way to a very attractive man oozing sex appeal and the body of that of a god.

Yes, that could be the reason. There’s no other explanation.

Dominique exhales. “You should know something about me, Robyn. I’m a very patient man. And by patient, I mean, I can always take things slow even though you will always be in denial.” What is this about?

“Denial? I’m in denial about what?”

“You’re smart, you know what I mean.”

I chuckle quietly, biting my bottom lip as I bring my hand from under the table to place it on top of the table.

“I have a feeling you want me to admit to you that I like you.”

“Likeness and attraction are two different things. Why don’t we focus on the attraction?” Dominique says, matching my gaze with his heated ones.

Desire. There’s desire in his eyes and hunger.

His ocean-blue eyes linger on my face, staring into my eyes intently. With the way he holds my gaze, I can feel that unfamiliar electricity coursing through my veins.

With the way he’s looking at me, I can tell he has little to no restraints left. He wants me, I know that, but I never knew he wanted me this much. And now he wants me to tell him that I want him too just as much as he wants me. He wants me to feed his ego.

“Why are you so confident that I am attracted to you?”

Dominique smirks, seductive and flirtatious. “Why don’t you let me show you?” He asks. His voice is husky, deep, and malicious.

He knows what he’s doing. He’s trying to see me melt under his gaze. Little does he know I’m a master of his own seductive game. But I won’t tell him that, I’ll have to show him.

I lean forward, my voice an octave lower as I whisper, “Then show me.”
