I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 501

Chapter 501 Beg him

"What do you think you can find out?" Benjamin sneered. If Curtis could find out, he would have already done so.

He hung up straight away, dropping the phone casually on his desk. He looked gloomy and cold, thinking, "Harper, what the hell are you hiding from me?"

Benjamin stayed in the study room for a long time until Harper knocked on the door at around eleven at night.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Harper stood in the doorway and asked, "Benjamin, are you done?"

"Yes." He said with a little rasp in his voice.

Harper froze and whispered, "What's wrong with you? Are you uncomfortable somewhere?"

She thought, "He doesn't sound right."

Benjamin closed his laptop, then got up and walked over. He said gently, "I'm fine. Do you want to rest?"

Harper nodded, watching his face. But she couldn't read his emotions, so she didn't think much of it.

Back in the bedroom, Harper had fallen asleep while Benjamin was in the shower.

But Benjamin did not have the slightest intention of sleeping. After watching her sleep, he walked out of the bedroom to the balcony of the living room and lit a cigarette. He stared at the dark sky with a very somber expression. Benjamin finished a cigarette before opening the cell phone he held and calling Larry.

It was late, but Larry hadn't rested yet. He had just returned from socializing and hadn't even gone inside yet.

Getting a call from Benjamin, he asked in surprise, "You're not with your wife at this hour. Did you have another fight?"

Instead of responding, Benjamin simply asked, "How about we make a deal?"

"What kind of deal?" Benjamin already knew about Larry getting drunk and being left on Annie's doorstep. So Larry subconsciously asked, "Benjamin, you're not planning to count me out again, are you?"

"I'm not that idle."

"Really?"

"Believe it or not is up to you. Agreeing or not is also for you to choose."

Larry thought for a moment and asked, "What is it?"

Benjamin narrowed his eyes. His handsome face was icy, and his voice overflowed with fatigue. "Starting tomorrow, no matter what comes up, keep an eye on Mansion No. 7 for me, and don't let a single mosquito fly into the Mansion No. 7." Startled, Larry asked, "Benjamin, what do you mean by that? What are you going to do?"

"You don't have to ask so many questions. You only need to tell me whether you can do it or not." He frowned slightly. His handsome face was tensed without any relief, extraordinarily cold in the dim light. "If you can do this well, the Martin Group will unconditionally support you if you are hindered by the Jones family between you and Annie in the future. What about it?"

Larry didn't care why Benjamin said that, but all his attention was on the fact that Benjamin was making a deal with him with such a big bargain.

What would it mean to support him unconditionally?

It meant that no matter what

damage the Jones family did to his interests, the Martin Group would be on his side. It was equivalent to the Martin Group being in opposition to the Jones family. Although the Martin Group wasn't worried at all, it had created one more enemy this way.

Larry asked, "Benjamin, what the hell are you doing? And what's the point of having me keep an eye on Mansion No. 7?"

"Do you agree or not? If you don't say yes, I can go to Felix. However, in that case, I won't interfere between you and Annie anymore. So think it over." Larry was helpless.

He shook his head gently, really wanting to record it for the employees of the Martin Group to hear. Their president, Benjamin, was clearly trying to beg him for a favor, but not a single word of his words sounded like begging. Instead, they were a handout to him.

The only person who begged like that was probably Benjamin.

Larry chuckled, "Benjamin, can't you say something nice to me? Do you have to threaten me? I'm not even sure if I have a future with Annie. How can you be sure I'm going to get you to support me?"
