Chapter 818 He’s a Bag Full of Cats
Ophelia searched around the bonfire but could not find Chloe anywhere. She handed her wine glass to Otto and said, "I'm going to make a call."
He wrapped his arm around her waist and smiled. "Who are you calling?"
"Chloe. We made plans to deal with Xavia today, but Chloe’s nowhere to be found."
Otto narrowed his eyes slightly. "Don't bother looking for her. Once we're married, I'll take care of Xavia for you." Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Ophelia pushed him away and sneered. "You? I'll be grateful as long as you don’t turn our family upside down."
"I’d never do that to you," Otto said affectionately, but there was a hint of cunning in his eyes. "Darling, what's mine is yours. Once I take over Duskfall, you can handle Xavia however you want."
The roles were well-defined in Duskfall, and nobody was to interfere with each other's tasks. Although he was not very clear on what tasks had been assigned to Xavia, he would not help Xavia, nor would he stop Ophelia. If Ophelia was willing to use the royal family's power to help him ascend the ranks, then Xavia's life and death would no longer be his concern. After all, it was her fault for not being able to secure Joseph's heart.
"Stop it. I'm not a gullible fool like my brother," Ophelia said as she raised an eyebrow mischievously. "I know what you're thinking. Don't say things I don't want to hear, or I might start disliking you."
Otto was stumped. He lamented. "Darling, you're hurting my feelings. Why do you doubt my love for you?"
"What a smooth talker. I’m going to make the call now, so behave yourself," Ophelia teased with a smile on her face.
As soon as she left, Otto's smile faded. He looked toward Xavia, who was playing the violin by the bonfire. The beautiful music, the dancing firelight, and the soft breeze that lifted her skirt and revealed her legs ever so slightly, made for a captivating sight. It gave her a pure, unapproachable quality, lending her an ethereal quality. Everything about her was perfect.
Kenneth was gazing at her affectionately. Seeing the admiring glances of the people around them, he felt a great sense of satisfaction. To him, what Clara said was definitely out of jealousy as Xavia was unmatched in this world.
Everyone was immersed in this outdoor concert, unaware of the smugness in Xavia's eyes. With Chloe's absence, she was determined to steal the spotlight she had lost in the first half of the party.
While Otto was mulling over the matter, his phone buzzed. He did not wish to check it, but since Ophelia was not coming back anytime soon, he reluctantly looked at the message. Upon reading it, he immediately sat up straight. It was a message from Noah. However, he had not agreed to work with him. Instead, Noah wanted to meet Cyrus directly.
Otto chuckled playfully. It seemed that Noah was getting bold and that was looking down on him. He replied, [My father is busy, and besides, I can provide you with what you want. Young man, don’t bite off more than you can chew.]
It did not take long before Noah replied, [What if I know the whereabouts of Joseph's mother?]
Otto stared at his phone for a long moment, feeling an inexplicable chill down his spine as he recalled Noah’s innocent, clean face. It looked like he should not underestimate someone who could compete with Joseph for a woman.
After all, Noah was clearly a bag full of cats.

When Chloe woke up, she habitually reached under her pillow to grab her phone. After fumbling around for a while, she realized it was not there. Rubbing her eyes, she sat up and lifted the pillow, only to find her phone was not there. She assumed it had fallen off the bed, but after searching around, it was clear that was not the case.
Sitting at the edge of the bed, her gaze fell on the sandwich and hot milk on her bedside table. She frowned, and her first reaction was that someone had entered her room and taken her phone. And that someone must have been Noah.
Chloe got out of bed and put on her shoes, having every intention to question him about it. But when she reached the door, she found herself unable to open it despite turning the doorknob vigorously. She realized that not only Noah had taken her phone, but he had also locked her in.
