Chapter 31 Fool
Sierra struggled to find the words that could describe her emotions, but she had no doubt in her mind that Maggie would cause harm to her face.
“Magie, It’s me, Sierra!”
Sierra’s voice trembled as she swallowed hard.
Maggie smiled, but her eyes didn’t show the same didn’t show the same
armth. She slowly withdrew the dagger, the sharp edge
barely grazing Sierra’s delicate check.
Sierra was scared, trying to lean away with her head tilted up.
However, she was cornered with her back against the wall. Despite her attempts to cling to the wall like a gecko, there was nowhere to run.
Maggie noticed the fear in Sierra’s eyes and found it amusing.
This made her realize that even people who hurt others mercilessly can feel fear themselves.
Maggie had experienced the pain of a blade piercing through the skin, deep enough to expose the bone. This was something she could never forget, having lived two lives.
“Behave yourself. You just need to continue being the little princess of the Camerons. If you provoke me again, I won’t hesitate to leave you with nothing.” Maggie said with a cold smile in her eyes.
Sierra swallowed hard again, her fingers tightly clenched, and her eyes filled with resentment.
How dare this woman, Maggie!
“Maggie, I understand. I won’t take your things anymore. Please don’t be angry.” Sierra was in tears and couldn’t speak.
Maggie was cold and cruel. She took away the stick and walked out.
As soon as Maggie left, Sierra fell to the floor, clearly terrified.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Maggie was insane!
This woman must be insane!
Otherwise, how could she dare to do such a thing to her?
A few minutes later, a servant hurried over. “Miss, what are you doing here? The old lady and madam have been searching for you everywhere.
Noticing Sierra’s slightly messy hair, the servant couldn’t help but show concern, “Are you all right?
“What could possibly be wrong with me! Just go away!”
The servant awkwardly left the room. Sierra regained her composure and returned to the banquet hall, hiding her fear.
Her old friends surrounded her as soon as she entered the room.
“Sierra, how did it go? Did Maggie agree to lend you the necklace?”
“She must have refused. I just saw that necklace still around Maggie’s neck,”
“Sierra, didn’t you say your sister loves you the most? She would give you anything you want, right? How could she not even lend you a necklace? How stingy.”
“Yeah, this banquet is supposed to be about you, Sierra. How could she not even lend you a necklace?”
“Your family seems to treat Maggie better than you. I’m curious, are you the lady of the Camerons, Maggie?”
or is it
“That’s right, isn’t this banquet for you? Why is Mrs. Cameron busy entertaining guests with Maggie? It’s as if she’s the real lady of the family
The group was talking, but they didn’t seem like real friends.
Sierra tried to smile, but her expression turned dark. “My sister said the necklace didn’t match the color of my dress. She’ll give it to me after the banquet.”
“Our family has always been good to her. There’s no need to say such things.” Sierra spoke again after a pause.
Everyone noticed and changed the subject politely, but they all thought differently.
After a while, the banquet started officially. As the main character of the event, Mr. and Mrs. Camerons. introduced Sierra to everyone, and she even played the piano.
Maggie stood below the stage, holding a glass of wine. She looked uninterested.
Suddenly, a man in a dark suit approached her and casually commented, “The Camerons don’t appear to be worried about losing their reputation based on their daughter’s performance.”
Maggie’s lips curved into a faint smile as her gaze shifted towards the tall, lean man beside her.
Leo’s complexion was pale, almost icy, in contrast to his neatly groomed black hair. A black earring adorned his left earlobe, and his eyes were captivating with a hint of playfulness. When he smiled, he appeared carefree and charming, but when he didn’t, his face took on a wicked edge that sent shivers down people’s spines.
Maggie couldn’t help but compare him to Nathael, who always kept his distance and never fully revealed. himself to anyone. In stark contrast, Leo radiated approachability, making him seem almost familiar, as if they had known each other for years. However, spending more time in his company would reveal the subtle nuances in his expressions, each revealing a different aspect of his personality.
Maggie felt a wave of gratitude wash over her, thankful that he had survived.
“The trap has been set. Now we wait for the prey to take the bait,” Leo said, gazing at her with a gentle
Cemila
Maggie responded with a smile, her eyes revealing a hint of calculation. “They will take the bait. They are too greedy.”
The music ended shortly after, and the audience erupted in applause.
Sierra stood on stage, looking obedient and charming. “Thank you, everyone! Thank you!”
“Ms. Camerons is truly elegant and talented,” someone in front of the stage praised with a smile.
Olivia also wore a smile, clearly in a good mood.
Olivia was momentarily stunned, clearly not expecting Sierra to suddenly attack.
All eyes turned to Sierra, causing a calm stir in the crowd. “I remember Maggie doesn’t have any talents, does she?”
“I’ve heard that too. Besides her exceptional talent in architectural design, she needs improvement in
other areas.
“The term lacking‘ might only partially apply. Maggie is an outstanding graduate from a top university. Even if she doesn’t possess exceptional talents, she is still an accomplished student.”
“Even if she’s not lacking, she’s merely a bookworm who only knows how to study. The children we raise in our prestigious families naturally need to be well–rounded. Although Maggie was fortunate enough to be raised by the Camerons, she still can’t measure up and lacks refinement.”
The crowd buzzed with discussion, but Maggie, who was at the center of attention, remained composed.
“Idiot,” Leo sneered, his gaze falling on Sierra, speaking without any courtesy.
Olivia tugged at Sierra’s hand, smiling. “Both of them are indeed hardworking, each with their own strengths.”
Unexpectedly, Sierra had already harbored resentment from the previous incident and was determined to embarrass Maggie. She showed no regard for Olivia’s feelings as she spoke again, “How about we ask Maggie to perform a song for everyone, Mom? That way, everyone can see my talent and Maggie’s skills!”
Though her words seemed innocent, her intentions were clearly malicious.
Sierra and her sister were both enrolled in piano lessons by the Camerons. While the teacher primarily focused on helping Sierra develop her talent, he also saw potential in Maggie. Maggie diligently studied everything to express gratitude for the Camerons‘ investment in her, ensuring their efforts were worthwhile.
However, the teacher didn’t seem interested in teaching her. He quickly informed the Camerons that Maggie lacked talent, deeming her lessons unnecessary.
Despite feeling regretful upon learning this, the Camerons decided to discontinue her lessons.
