Love or Leave Behind Novel

Chapter 90

julien wouldn’t shut up from the moment he got into Shelmaine’s car. He asked her when she had bought the car, gotten her license, and how long she had been driving shr answered his questions tirelessly, which was rare considering her usual reticence.

It was only when Jullen asked her about her thine as a student that she held her tongue. Fortunately, Julien was so thick–skinned that he continued asking her questions after that. She answered them selectively but did not ignore him entirely.

That said, she would remind him of her rule about personal space if he tried to hug her again as he had at the airport.

Julien had slowly but surely figured out how to get Shemale to warm up to him. Things between them were getting more natural as time passed. They were starting to become comfortable with each other like an old, bickering couple.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

When they arrived at the dining spot, it took shelmate some time to find a parking space. They got out of the car only to run into Julien’s old friend, a woman who spoke with an Ostenlin accent

Julien introduced her as Sonia Windham. She had gone to university with him, and they were close friends.

Shelmaine and Jullen’s dinner plans had originally been meant for two, but the former didn’t mind Sonia joining them, much to Julien’s dismay.

Shelmate was flippant about it, finding nothing wrong in having extra company for dinner. It seemed only natural for her to invite Sonia to join them after running into her. However, Julien wanted to spend time alone with Shelmaine

Sensing she was third–wheeling them, Soniasid apologetically, “Pardon my intrusion. I should have found my own table instead of interrupting your date.”

“And yet, you sat down anyway, so thanks a bunch,” Jullen drawled in good humor. Shelmaine could tell they were tight–knit.

“What’s a lady to do other than apologize? Sorry,” Sonia said in a sing–song voice, not sounding very sorry at all.

“Just shut up,” julien chided good–naturedly.

Shelmaine listened to them quietly and watched them bicker in amusement. When Sonia suddenly asked them if anything was going on between them, Julien broke into a coughing fit and snapped, “It’s none of your business.”

“Shall I take a guess? Are you guys just friends, or progressing toward something more? Sonia asked playfully.

Shelmaine didn’t find anything wrong? with being frank about this. “We’re still friends.”

So, there’s a chance that you might become something more?” Sonia pressed.

Julien shot Sonia a sharp look while pouring tea, silently beseeching her to shut up and stop being so nosy. “Here, have some tea. You must be parched.”

Sonia caught the look he gave her and obligingly stopped with the questions. Suddenly, she noticed the bracelet Shelmaine was wearing and grew fascinated with it. “Ms. Clarke, where didy

dyou get that bracelet? is it from any brand I might know?

“Oh, this? It isn’t from a brand. I made it for fun.” Shelmaine answered

“You designed it?” Sonia asked.

“On a whim, yes,” shelmaine replied nonchalantly. The bracelet was one of her older designs, and she only wore it out of habit.

“Are you a jewelry designer?” Sonia probed

“Well, aren’t you a clever one?” Julien interjected. Pride shone on his face as he explained, “Shelly here is an exceptional designer, and a famous one, to boot. My sister even came to her for wedding band designs.”

“Don’t listen to him. He’s blotting.” Shelmine quickly countered. “I’m just a small–timer in the industry, running a nondescript business for a living.” she knew Julien was prone to exaggerations, but she never realized the extent of it

She was far from being a famous designer. She had a simple resume, and she had never worked for a fancy or renowned brand.

She and her friends set up a business after graduation. To become a famous designer, one needed a striking resume, if not a gilded one. One might also consider buying one’s way into fame if they had the mans

alten gave Shelmine a withering look. “I’m not blutting Imp praising you. You’re talented to me, and I would be lying if I said otherwise

Sonia cringed “Ugh, you’re so cheesy, Juden”

Shelmaine was already used to such sporadic sweet talk from Julien. She was grateful be thought so highly of her, but she didn’t want him to exaggerate in front of others She wasn’t self–conscious about being praised, but she and Sonia had only just met. If Julien kept praising her, Sonia might be put ott
