Whatever makes you happy
Later.
Belle woke up with suddenly. It made Ben sit up too.
“Ben,” She called when she saw that he was also awake.
“Yes, I’m here.” He held her, “Take a breath.”
“Okay,” she nodded and did as she was asked, breathing in and out slowly. It made her relax and Ben noticed it.
“Good,” he smiled.”Talk to me, I’m listening.” Ben wanted to know what made her get up with such suddenness.
“Earlier,” She began, leaning back into his arms.
“Yes?”
“While we had sex, you said something…” She trailed, hoping he would catch what she was referring to. She didn’t want to complete it because she knew he didn’t like the topic.
“I said something? Be specific.”
“You know, you whispered these words to me… or did you?” She stopped and asked herself, biting her lips and thinking to herself.
He didn’t know but most of the time they had sex, she always imagined how he was saying how much he loved her while he fucked her. It was something she discovered that gave her orgasm reach a boost, and when he said ‘I love you’ to her while sliding in and out of her earlier, it took her to the clouds and back. A different kind of ecstasy took over her, she knew, but what she didn’t know was if he actually said those words to her or if it was just her usual imagination.
“Are you asking?” His voice got her out of her thoughts.
Belle took in a deep breath, hoping for his best reaction when she said what she was about to ask.
“Did you say… you know what? Never mind.” She pulled on the blanket and covered her face with it.
‘What were you going to ask him, Belle?!’ She scolded herself with her head underneath the blanket.’Don’t be crazy, there’s no way he actually told you he loves you.’
“What’s the matter?” He joined her under the blanket.
“I just wished you believed in love.” She pouted some tears in her eyes.
“I didn’t used to believe in it, but I know I love you.” Belle who had been looking down at the sheets raised her head.
“You said it again!” She snapped happily.”It wasn’t my imagination earlier, you did say it.”
“I did,” he chuckled lightly, enjoying how happiness reflected in her eyes.
“Say it again?” She climbed on top of him like earlier but now under the blanket.
“I love you.” He said it to her hearing and saw her smile grow from calm to excited.
“O my goodness,” she covered her mouth with her right palm.”Why does this make me so happy?” She blinked and a tear fell on his chest but it wasn’t a sad tear.
“Don’t cry,” he used his thumb to dry the wet trail that the single teardrop had left on her cheeks.
“I’m trying not to,” she smiled and leaned in to give him a kiss but paused.”Hold on, is this one of my dreams?”
Ben laughed and squeezed her ass so she could agree that she wasn’t dreaming. Belle laughed when he did that and then kissed him as she planned.
*****
Brie came from her room and joined her friend, Cherry on the couch in the living room. They were about to start eating a box of pizza they just ordered when they heard the bell ring.
“Did you forget to tip the delivery guy?” Brie asked Cherry who had a slice of pizza near her mouth already.
“No, I tipped him. I’m sure.”
“Did you?” Brie tilted her head a little to the right with an eyebrow raised when asking her again.
“Okay, yes, I didn’t. I’ll go.” Cherry stood and headed to the door.”I thought he didn’t care for it, he didn’t ask like always.” She added in defense to why she didn’t tip the person before opening the door.
“Hey,” Belle had a broad smile.
“It’s Belle, not him. I told you he didn’t care to be tipped today.” Cherry opened the door wider for Belle to come in.
“Oh,” Brie just said like she didn’t care that her sister just arrived.
Belle ignored what she just did and went and joined her on the couch. When Brie didn’t say anything to her, she took a slice of the pizza and started to eat with her.
Cherry watched them both eat together for a while without saying a word to each other, and decided to join them even if she found it unusual.
“Okay, weird moment right now.” She said to break the silence after sitting with them but neither still spoke.
Brie was about to take a new slice from the box but Cherry decided to close it up to stop her.
“No way,” She looked at Brie eye to eye, and Brie looked back at her, wanting to know why she did what she did.”If I let you take another slice, you both are just gonna keep eating quietly, and that’s boring.” Cherry explained.
Brie rolled her eyes like she also didn’t care for the pizza but she did, and she also was happy to see Belle; this was just her pretending because she felt like Belle didn’t care that she cared.
“… And I know Belle came here for a reason. Tell me I’m right,” Cherry looked at Belle who nodded.”I knew!” Cherry announced.”It’s good news, isn’t it? I saw that smile when I opened the door.”
Belle nodded again.
“Good news? What happened?” Brie asked, showing interest now.
Cherry opened the Pizza box and took a slice for herself, ready to listen to all the new gists Belle had to tell.
“You two won’t believe it, especially you, Brie…” Belle grinned when she started.
“Believe what?” Brie asked. She was now more interested than Cherry who usually was the one to want to know.
“Ben loves me.” Belle smiled with fulfillment echoing after her voice but she saw Brie’s interest diminish the moment she mentioned Ben. Cherry only got more interested, as usual.
“O my god, really?” It was Cherry asking.”Did he say so or you just think he loves you because of his actions?”
“He said so. He confessed to me more than once today that he loves me.” Belle couldn’t keep her smile behind every time she talked about Ben and earlier today.
“How possible?” Brie laughed.”I mean, you’ve told us yourself many times that he, Ben Larkson, doesn’t believe in love.”Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Yes, surprising It is, I was almost unbelieving myself too,” Belle smiled more but Brie couldn’t share with Belle’s smile. She didn’t believe it.
“There’s no way.” Brie shook her head and ate from her slice.
“What do you mean there’s no way? Belle’s telling you herself that he confessed his love for her and you are saying there’s no way?” Cherry opposed Brie.
“It’s not possible, that’s what I mean.” Brie shrugged.
“So you think she’s lying?”
“I didn’t say that. I’m just saying that it’s Ben Larkson we are talking about, and everyone in City S and beyond if I’m not mistaken, knows that he doesn’t accept that love exists, so how?”
“Well, he had a change of belief.” Belle shrugged.
“Okay, look Belle, this is… I don’t know what this is. How come he believes in love all of a sudden, I don’t trust it.”
“That’s the problem, Brie, you don’t trust anybody or anything.” Cherry hissed.
“Forget that about me and think of it. I think it’s unusual.”
“There’s nothing unusual about it.” Cherry argued.”It’s not like he has anything to gain if he lies about his feelings for her. Is there, Belle?”
“Ben speaks his mind without care for who it is, he doesn’t lie about how he feels. I’ve had to listen to him tell me many times that he wishes he could love me the way I wanted, and back then he said things like they came to his mind. Now, he finally sees that nothing is stopping him from loving me, so when he tells me that he loves me, I believe him.”
“Whatever makes you happy,” Brie shook her head before taking a bite off of the slice she had in hand, “Just be careful with this thing you have with him.”
After the girls were done eating they decided to watch something on TV together. Belle was the only one watching the TV, the others were busy using their phone but they stared at the television once in a while before returning their attention to their phones.
Someone knocked and they all looked at the time on the table clock near the TV. Giving themselves looks to figure out if any of them were expecting somebody, it ended up in them looking at Belle at the same time.
Belle shook her head to indicate that no one was supposed to be knocking at the door for her.
“Let me check,” Cherry whispered to them.
“Don’t open the door till you know who it is, Cherry,” Brie advised and saw her friend nod in compliance.
After looking through the doors eyehole, she saw a man but she couldn’t see his face because he was too close to the door. She turned her neck and looked at Brie and Belle who were waiting to knock who it was.
“It’s a man in a suit, and I think he’s leaning by the wall because I can’t see his face,” Cherry said to them and proceeded to open the door to both their surprise.
“What are you doing…,” Brie almost panicked when the door opened and she saw who they were talking about just hours ago.
“Ben?” Belle stood up when she saw him. He was standing with one of his hands in his pocket and the other holding a stick of pink rose. Brie rolled her eyes.
Belle went to meet him where he stood at the door. She looked at both Brie and Cherry apologetically for having them panic after he knocked.
