Love's Redemption

Redmption 47

Redmption 47

I got off the plane and headed straight to the amusement park without event dropping off my luggage.

Kara was there. The moment she saw me, she hugged me tightly. “Ms. Crown, you’re finally back.”

I patted her shoulder. “Come on, let’s go check a few spots first.”

I barely slept last night, pondering over possible problem areas. Although I suspected the construction team and the lighting supplier, the chances of them making a mistake were slim.

This was a major project. Any error on their part would cost them dearly, possibly bankrupting them.

So, after much consideration, I concluded that the issue might lie elsewhere However, as a non– professional, I couldn’t pinpoint the exact problem. I needed to see the site for myself.

Turning the lights on and off, I compared the design renderings. I worked non- stop until 2:00 am.

“Ms. Crown, you must’ve stored up a lot of energy for the past week. You’re exploding all of it now,” Kara joked, utterly exhausted.

Had I been gone that long? I didn’t even have time to ponder this. We headed back to the company, working through the night to compile a report on the issues we identified. We planned to construct the construction and lighting suppliers the next day and report to Chris.

He was already aware of the problem and was furious. That was what Kara had informed me. She also mentioned that even if we resolved the issue, we’d still face penalties.

Chris might not care much about me personally. But he was always fair and strict in professional matters, so this didn’t surprise me.

“Even if we face penalties, we must do our best.” I stated firmly, sticking to my principles.

It wasn’t until 6:00 am that Kara and I finished our work. She was so tired that

she fell asleep on her desk. My eyelids felt heavy too, but I surprisingly didn’t feel sleepy.

I freshened up in the restroom, made myself a cup of coffee, and continued. reviewing the problems I had found. If my judgment was correct, the issue. should be with the lighting adjustments. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Ms. Crown, you’re back?”

“You’re back early, Ms. Crown!”

As people started arriving at the office, they greeted me warmly. But I noticed their gazes were different.

Kara told me that everyone knew about me and Chris‘ wedding troubles. They also knew I had lived with the Gildon family for years. So, even without a certificate, we were essentially a married couple.

I never cared about others‘ opinions. Faced with their curious looks and the whispers behind my back, I pretended not to notice.

Who didn’t talk about others behind their backs? Who wasn’t talked about

behind theirs?

Moreover, my separation from Chris was a fact. Their curiosity was understandable.

Having not slept all night, I started feeling drowsy around ten. So, I went to the pantry to make another cup of coffee.

As I stepped out with my coffee, I saw Chris approaching. His gaze on me was intense. I could sense the complex emotions in his eyes–resentment, anger…

“Good morning, Mr. Gildon.” I greeted him as usual, then tried to walk past him with my coffee.

“Come to my office.” His voice was so stern that my hand trembled, almost spilling my coffee.

I took a deep breath. “Alright.
