Chapter 99 Marry Me
Chapter 99 Marry Me
Outside the house, the wind was fierce. Eva couldn't help holding her jacket more tightly.
The wind blew Eva's messy hair. The coat seemed to become thinner and thinner in the gust of wind.
She dragged her heavy steps away from the Sommers' villa step by step.
Fortunately, here was not too far from the city. After walking for nearly an hour, she finally got a taxi.
Eva asked the driver to go to Palatino Riviera. After getting off the taxi, she realized that she had no
money with her because she was in a hurry at that time. The driver stared at Eva as if she would run
away without paying.
Eva was very embarrassed. She touched her pocket, but luckily her phone was still there.
Unexpectedly, the mobile phone was dead.
"Sir, may I borrow your phone? I, I'm going to call my friend to send the money over..."
Eva really couldn't find a suitable person to come. After hesitating for a long time, she silently reciting
Caleb's number, and called him.
Caleb had just dealt with some company affairs. When he returned to the bedroom, his phone rang.
Seeing the strange number jumping on the screen, he frowned slightly.
"Hello."
"Hey, it's me." Hearing Caleb's voice, Eva spoke quickly.
"I know." Caleb raised his eyebrows and pretended to answer calmly.
"Well, are you asleep?"
Hearing Eva's hesitant voice, Caleb felt something wrong. Besides, he also vaguely heard the wind.
"What? Where are you?" There was a trace of nervousness in his voice.
"Nothing. It's just... could you come to Palatino Riviera..."
Twenty minutes later.
A very fast Bentley stopped steadily. Caleb saw Eva shivering on the side of the road from a distance,
and the taxi driver watching her from running away. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
It was so windy outside. They didn't know wait in the car?
Caleb got out of the car quickly. When he approached Eva, he took off his woolen jacket and put it
tightly on Eva.
"Why don't you wait in the car?" Although Caleb's tone was reproachful, his movements were
extremely gentle.
Listening to Caleb's scolding, Eva did not refute. She just stared blankly at Caleb, "I don't have any
money with me."
Caleb paid for the taxi before walking towards the apartment with Eva.
After Caleb received Eva's call, he immediately drove to Palatino Riviera. It took him 20 minutes to
drive here. Normally, it had to take him half an hour.
Palatino Riviera was the residence arranged by the company for Eva. She had hardly ever lived in it.
But the cleaner would come to clean it at a fixed time. So she could live directly as soon as she came
here.
"Go take a hot bath. Hope you didn't catch a cold." After Caleb opened the door, he instructed Eva.
Although his voice was still cold, Eva still felt the warm. She walked into the bathroom obediently.
When Eva came out of the bath, she saw Caleb still sitting on the sofa. He frowned slightly. Eva didn't
know what he was thinking. Because he didn't even notice when she approached.
"Thank you today." Eva looked at Caleb and expressed her gratitude to him. After all, she called him
over in the middle of the night to help.
Caleb took the towel from Eva's hand. While helping Eva dry her hair, he said, "What happened?"
"What?"
Before Eva came to her senses, she heard his question. Then she asked subconsciously.
Mr. Livingstone actually helped her to dry her hair! No one believed it, right?
Eva hesitated for a moment, and then told Caleb about the conflicts between her, the Sommers couple
and Sheila.
She said she didn't care, but there was still a hint of loss on her face.
Caleb reached out and rubbed Eva's head, comforting her silently and telling her that he was there.
Eva forced a smile, "I've never asked for too much. Even if it's just... Forget it! I'm used to it anyway..."
Seeing Eva's smile, Caleb felt so heartbroken. A dim light flashed in his eyes.
"As long as you ask, the Sommers will not hurt you again." Caleb pondered for a while and then said.
Eva was stunned for a moment. She understood what Caleb meant. As long as she asked, the
Sommers family would stay far away from her, and would even disappear in Hartvenport.
"No, it's not as serious as this." After all, they were her biological parents. So Eva still couldn't be
completely ruthless.
"Eva, you can reconsider what I said before." Caleb quickly changed the subject.
"What?" The topic changed so quickly that Eva didn't react for a while.
"Marry me." Caleb said calmly, just looking at Eva with unprecedented seriousness and tenderness in
his eyes.
Eva was speechless for a while. She just stared at Caleb blankly.
His eyes became deeper and deeper under the light. Eva seemed to be sucked into his eyes.
When Caleb talked about this before, she treated it more as a joke. The president of Lumenstone even
said that he wanted to marry her. Anyone would think it was a joke.
But after getting along with him during this period of time, although Caleb was usually cold and pulled a
long face all day, he was really good to her. Gradually, she had become somewhat dependent from the
fear at the beginning.
"You don't have to give me the answer now. It's not late to tell me when you've decided." Caleb said.
If Eva was with him and became Mrs. Livingstone, not only would others not be able to bully her, but he
would have the reason to protect her aboveboard even if she suffered grievance.
Eva listened to Caleb saying that in a low voice. She felt that her whole heart was thumping and was
about to pop out…
"It's not that I don't accept you. It's just that I'm not ready to accept the next relationship..." Eva was
silent for a while before replying softly.
In her best years, she took out her whole heart and gave it to Brody. But what she got in return was
only insult and betrayal.
So she didn't dare to start another relationship easily. She didn't want to experience that kind of pain
again.
"I want you to give me some time. I'll tell you the answer when I've adjusted." Eva stared at Caleb.
"Okay, my words have always been valid." Caleb knew that Eva needed time, so he wouldn't force her.
Her words appeased him temporarily.
"It's very late. Hurry up and go to bed." It was nearly one o'clock in the morning.
"Then you…"
"I can sleep on the sofa."
"I'll get you a quilt." After speaking, Eva entered the bedroom.
