Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Jamie Threats

“How dare you?” Jessie said, her voice filled with anger. “You’re trying to blackmail me now? You’re a despicable human being.”

“I’m just trying to make you see the truth, Jessie,” Jaime said, his voice calm. “You can’t keep living in denial forever. Sooner or later, the truth will come out, and it’s going to be a lot worse if you don’t face it now.”

“I’m not in denial, and I’m not going to let you manipulate me,” Jessie said, standing up from the table. “I’m leaving. I don’t want to talk about it again.”

“You can’t just walk away from this, Jessie,” Jaime said, standing up as well. “It’s not that simple. This is a serious situation, and we need to talk about it.”

“No, we don’t,” Jessie said, her voice firm. “I’m done with this conversation. I’m going home.”

“I’m not letting you leave like this,” Jaime said, stepping in front of the door. “Please, just hear me out.”

“Get out of my way, Jaime,” Jessie said, her voice shaking. “I don’t want to talk to you anymore.”

“Why do you love him and not me huh, Jessie?” Jaime asked.

“Why do you love that asshole, Alexander and not me?!”

Jessie looked at him. “Because he isn’t a manipulative asshole like you that uses one’s secret to blackmail them into doing your own bidding.

So get the hell out of my way, Jaime.”

Jaime’s face turned red with anger. He took a step toward Jessie, and she flinched. He saw the fear in her eyes, and it made him feel powerful.

“I’m not leaving until you listen to me,” he said, his voice low and threatening.

“Stop it, Jaime,” Jessie said, her voice shaking. “You’re scaring me.”

Jaime looked at her, and for a moment, he saw the fear in her eyes. But it only made him want to push her even more. He needed to prove that he was in control.

“What’s… What’s the matter, Jessie?” he asked, his voice taunting. “Are you afraid of me?”

Jessie swallowed hard, trying to keep her composure. She couldn’t let him see how scared she was.

“You’re not scaring me,” she said, her voice as steady as she could make it. “I just don’t want to talk to you anymore.”

“You’re not going to get away that easily,” Jaime said, his eyes narrowing. “I’m not giving up on you.”

“What does that mean?” Jessie asked, her heart racing.

He smiled a grin smile.

“I will make sure you come begging me to take you back if you walk out of this door, because I want to make sure that Alexander loses everything including you, Jessie.”Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“No!” Jessie said, her voice rising. “You can’t do that. You’re being completely unreasonable.”

“I’m not being unreasonable,” Jaime said, his voice low and dangerous. “I’m just doing what I need to do to get what I want. And right now, I want you and the contract.”

Jessie felt a wave of panic wash over her. She knew she had to get out of there, but she didn’t know how. She was stuck, and she didn’t know what to do.

“I’m leaving,” she said, her voice shaking. “I don’t want anything to do with you anymore. You’re not the person I thought you were.”

“You don’t mean that,” Jaime said, his voice softening. “I know you still have feelings for me. I can see it in your eyes.”

“You’re delusional,” Jessie said, her anger rising. “You’re not the man I thought you were. You’re manipulative and controlling, and I don’t want anything to do with you anymore.”

“I’m not going to give up on you,” Jaime said, his eyes boring into hers. “I’m going to fight for you until the end.”

She looked him in the eyes.

“You will never have me, again Jaime. You might have had your way before, but that was a mistake and would remain a mistake.”

Jaime was silent for a moment, looking at her with a blank expression. Then, he started to laugh.

“You really think you can get away from me that easily?” he asked, his voice mocking. “You’re not going anywhere. You’re mine, and you always will be.”

Jessie’s heart sank. She had hoped that he would see reason, but it was clear that he was not going to back down. She was trapped, and she didn’t know how to get out of this situation.

“What are you going to do?” she asked, her voice shaking. “Are you going to force me to stay with you? Are you going to threaten me? Are you going to hurt me?”

“I would never hurt you,” Jaime said, his voice suddenly gentle. “I would never lay a hand on you. I just want you to see that we’re meant to be together. We belong with each other. Don’t you feel it?”

Jessie shook her head. “I don’t feel anything for you anymore,” she said, her voice firm. “I’m leaving, and I’m never coming back.”

“You can’t do that,” Jaime said, his voice rising.

“I will tell your beloved boyfriend of the fact that we had sex when you went on that business trip to Singapore and I just can’t wait to see his expression when I tell him.”

Jessie swallowed hard as she realized the length to which Jaime would go to get what he wanted. He was a manipulative and annoying son of a bitch. What would she do to get out of the mess she had made for herself?

Should she tell Alex before Jaime does? Should she beg him not to tell Alexander?

“I think we should return to our seats, you see people are looking at us and we don’t want them getting the wrong impression of us.” Jaime said, a smile on his face as he realized his words had gotten to her.

She looked around at the restaurant and noticed that people sitting at the restaurant were actually staring at them and wondering what was going on.

She decided to return to their seat.

The waiter came and poured their wine.

“Thank you.” Jaime smiled at the waiter.

“So can I take your orders now?” The waiter asked.

Jaime looked at Jessie who was still deep in thoughts and was not paying attention to them.

Jaime smiled and then turned to the waiter to place their order on her behalf.

When the waiter had left, Jessie looked up and gave Jaime a cold stare.
