Chapter 47
Elara
It is the color of a Rogue. I wonder what pack she belonged to before she met Zuriel.
I stare at her once and go upstairs. Miel follows me with a smile on her lips. She doesn’t like River. As soon as we enter the bedroom. I let out a frustrated growl.
‘River annoys her,’
‘She was red with anger,’ Miel says.
‘So fast from crying to anger,’ I murmur, going to the closet. Once we reach there, we sack it for a new date dress. I want to look sexy for Zuriel.
‘I want to take his breath away,’ I say.
‘You look so happy, Princess,’ Miel muses. I look back at her. Indeed, I’m delighted. I’m elated to be Zuriel’s wife. I’m happy to be going on this date with him.
We finally picked a dress. It is a deep red short sleeve dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit. Miel helps me, giving it an elegant look. I do my makeup most naturally.
I stare in the mirror once I’m done getting ready.
‘You look stunning, my lady,’ Miel cheers. I inhale as I stare one more time in the mirror. I’m feeling a little anxious for some reason.
I go downstairs. I’m glad that I don’t see River.
Lou is driving the car. I’m nervous. Zuriel and I have been together several times, but we’ve never been on a date. This seems so real. I wonder what he has planned tonight.
Lou’s phone starts to ring, and from his reaction, I can tell it’s Zuriel. He steps on the gas.
The location we are at is pretty quiet. However, I can tell there is a board of water close by. I was right. Lou stops on the seashore. When I step out of the car, I shiver as the cool air hits my skin. I clutch my small purse tightly. Lou smiles at me,
‘Follow me, Ma’am, he’s waiting,’
I follow the butler towards the lighthouse by the small hill. There is a passageway of lights as we go to the already beautiful setting. I can tell that there are other people around, not many though.
I’m speechless once I reach the setting. It is decorated with white flowers and beautiful small lights are hanging over the trees.
Close to the edge of the hill, a glass table for two, with glasses and silverware has been elegantly placed. It was perfect.
‘You like it?’ I hear my husband’s deep voice ask. I was so focused on my surroundings that I hadn’t noticed him sooner. He is looking at me with a penetrating gaze.
My breath is caught in my chest. He is even more handsome than ever. He is wearing a gray suit and a white T-shirt. He doesn’t wear a tie. His silver locks are shining more than ever in the light. I walk towards him and smile,
‘I love it. I can’t believe you did this,’
He grabs my waist gently and pulls me closer to him. Our eyes lock. Before I can say a word… He crashes his lips on me. His kiss is rough and passionate, yet tender. I answer the kiss wholeheartedly. Our kiss is delightful, and butterflies dance in my stomach.
I blush when we pull away. Since when is Zuriel so good to me? Does he love me? I don’t want to rush to conclusions yet.
‘You’re blushing, little Princess,’
I avert my gaze from his intense ones.
‘It’s a little chilly,’ I murmur. He doesn’t argue with me about that. He pulls out a chair for me, and I sit. He leans close to my ear and whispers.
‘You look exquisite, my Princess.’ My, my. He called me my princess. I want to explode with happiness.
‘Thank you. You, too,’ my breath shudders at our closeness. He goes to his seat. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Zuriel is watching me with meek amusement in his emerald eyes. He finally reaches for a bottle of champagne and opens it. He pours it in a glass, and his. We clink and then drink.
‘How was your day?’ he asks.
I tell him about my day at the university. I’m surprised he looks genuinely interested in listening, as his gaze never leaves mine.
I stop talking when I realize I’m the only one speaking all this time. He frowns,
‘I’m listening,’
I changed the topic, ‘You seem to be in good spirits. Tell me about your day.’
He hesitates to answer me, and his eyes go to the sea. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked him.
‘I had a good day.’
‘What made it good?’
There is a ghost of a smile on his lips. My heart flutters. This is the closest thing to a smile I’ve seen from him.
‘My elder sister called me today.’
