Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 131

Everett barely batted an eye as he smoothly fastened his cufflinks, his gaze landing on Selena, whose hands were shaking so much from anger that she struggled with her buttons. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Though they hadn't gone all the way, there had been plenty of kissing, touching, and holding-moments that often stirred a sense of tenderness in men. With a slight smirk, he took her wrist gently and helped her to her feet. His fingers, long and deft, took over the task of fastening her buttons. Looking down at her with a casual air, he said, "You're my wife, and it's official. If I don't have my way with you, then who else will I do it with?"

The attraction between a man and a woman is the most natural thing. He saw no reason to hide his desires. Plus, men in the business world who made a name for themselves were driven by ambition, and such men had strong desires across the board.

Everett was picky-not just about food but also about women. Not every woman could catch his eye. Selena might not have stood out in other areas, but she always matched his tastes in bed.

Because of that, he tolerated her occasional dramas and quirks in their marriage; after all, finding a good match in bed wasn't easy.

Hearing this, Selena rolled her eyes dramatically. 'There he goes again, acting like he's all that!'

It's not like he hadn't been with Margot. How else would they have a child together?

His current anger probably had something to do with Margot being pregnant, making him unusually clingy with her.

Everett didn't pick up on her mood. His eyes drifted past her shoulder, taking in the aftermath of their making-out.

A conspicuous stain on the leather sofa marked where she had fiercely resisted hiim.

Observing the way her eyes full of anger, yet still drawn into the arousal he created, he leaned in again, whispering, "You didn't exactly seem to mind. Looked like you enjoyed it quite a bit."

Selena caught sight of his long fingers, and those scandalous scenes replayed in her mind, causing her cheeks to redden.

She reminded herself it was a natural reaction. Anyone would respond to such touches, especially when he deliberately teased her.

She refused to feel embarrassed!

Everett used to be straight-laced, never engaging in risqué banter. But now that he was acting like a playboy, she found it hard to handle.

Even though she'd watched plenty of romantic films to learn how to entice him, she'd only picked up the basics. Her heart was still inclined towards pure romance.

She pushed him away firmly, quickly straightening her clothes. Her blouse was still half-open, risking too much exposure. She gave Everett a frustrated glare, then grabbed Kis suit jacket from the coat rack and

threw it on.

At 6'2" and with a regular workout routine, his broad shoulders and narrow waist were covered in lean, sexy muscle, making him a perfect mannequin for any outfit.

Wearing his jacket made Selena look

like a kid in grown-up clothes, a bit comical, but she couldn't care less. Better that than stepping out looking disheveled and becoming the talk of the town.

Running her fingers through her hair, she grabbed her purse and walked out without sparing Everett another glance.

Everett watched her with his arms crossed, his dark eyes taking in the sight. His jacket draped over her, carrying his scent, pleased him with a sense of ownership.

No matter what, she had made him happy today.

"Selena, weren't you here to ask for a favor? And now you're leaving just like that?"

Selena stopped in her tracks, exasperated by his nonsense.

Annoyed, she shot back, "What, are you finally ready to keep your word now that you're satisfied?"

She had meant to mock him, but to her surprise, he seemed to genuinely consider it.
