Chapter 149_ Dinner date 1
Olivia placed both hands on her hips staring at the two kids blocking her path, she swerved to the other side and they did same..
This had been going on for the last two minutes and she was already getting a bit impatient by their behavior.
“Okay, can you both tell me why you are not letting me leave?”
Kelvin crossed his arm over his chest “You are trying to ditch us mummy, you are supposed to read a bedtime story for Kiara and I tonight”
A look of realization dawned on Olivia’s face, she chuckled awkwardly wondering what other white lie she could tell them..
“Oh.. well your dad and I made some plans about having dinner tonight, so why don’t you both wait for Bianca to come back home so that she could –
“NO!!”
Kelvin and Kiara both blurted at the same time, they knew better than to act naughty whenever Bianca was around because the latter doesn’t tolerate their little tantrums..
“Aunt doesn’t like fun, she tells us scary stories like the bed monster who turns kids into candy bars if they don’t sleep on time” Kiara murmured for Kelvin to give a nod seconding her words..
Olivia arched a brow, she was very aware that they were doing this so she could take them along with her..
“Okay.. what about grandma?”Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Speaking of her mum, Sandy appeared out of nowhere with a black facial mask on her face, she yawned lazily walking to the couch to binge watch her favorite show..
“Whenever she reads bedtime stories for us, she falls asleep even before we do”
Olivia’s face fell, her phone vibrated in her purse which she took out going through it..
It was a text from Damien, he was right outside waiting for her. If only they could let her leave without looking for ways to stop her..
“Mum, I’m not sure Bianca will be back anytime soon. Can you tuck them in tonight?”
“Sure, why not? just go on and have fun with Damien” Sandy replied back rising up to her feet, she made her way to them and quickly scooped Kelvin and Kiara next to her..
Olivia sighed in relief, she waved at them which they returned with a frown.
“Bye baby”

Olivia tucked her phone back into her purse as she walked to Damien who was leaning by the side of his black car..
He flashed her a smile which she returned with a shy one, the memory from earlier today flowed right through her head making her turn red in embarrassment..
“Hi, I’m sorry for keeping you waiting. The kids were upset that I was leaving them” Olivia explained..
“That is not a problem..”
Damien’s left hand went into his pocket, he opened the car’s door for her to step in, and when she did, he walked around to the other side and got in..
Few minutes later they arrived at a diner not too far away from Olivia’s apartment, this time, it wasn’t empty and it wasn’t crowded either..
Only a few couples could be seen here and there having conversations or laughing at something the other said..
Damien guided Olivia to the table he had reserved next to the floor to ceiling window.
“I hope you love it here”
Olivia heard Damien speak and raised her head to him..
“Of course I do, it has a nice view and it also looks romantic, I love the red and white theme” She replied back with a sincere smile on her lips..
A sigh of relief left her lips, the past few days had been going really great and extremely peaceful. Everything was gradually falling into place, well except them..
Their relationship had no name for now, even though they already knew something changed between them..
As if reading her thoughts, Damien touched Olivia’s hand resting on the table, he caressed it softly staring intensely into her eyes..
“You don’t have to worry about anything Olivia, I’m here for you and I know all these might seem foreign to you but you just have to let go of whatever fear you have”
Olivia licked her bottom lips and gave a nod to him, her eyes fell on his hand caressing the ring on her finger gently..
“What? you want the ring back?” She asked with an interrogative stare..
Damien chuckled shaking his head “I was just wondering if you love the name Sterling as your last name?”
Olivia pulled her palm out of his hold staring at the pretty Sterling’s heirloom around her finger. “I didn’t tell you I wanted to change my last name, there are thousands of names I could go for-
“But Sterling suites you best and that’s the only last name you are allowed to bear as long as I’m alive” Damien interjected with a wide grin on his face..
Olivia pushed a fair amount of hair behind her ears trying to hide her burning cheeks..
Thankfully, a waiter stopped by at the table just in time to save her from burning to death, she raised her head in surprise when her eyes fell on the red and white colored cake presented in front of her which had four words written on it ..
‘Will you marry me?’
Her heart thumped wildly in her chest, she met Damien’s eyes which was damn serious at the moment..
He left his seat and walked around the table to her, he went on one knee holding out a small red velvet box to her where a shiny object sat proudly sparkling whenever a ray of light fell on it.
“So, what do you say we change that last name of yours?” He asked in a teasing tone..
The couples around turned their necks towards them smiling from ear to ear..
“Say yes!”
Olivia faced the direction of the lady who just yelled out to her, and soon after others followed suite chanting ‘say yes!’
“So what are you waiting for milady? everyone is so excited about us.. let’s give L. A a banging headline tomorrow morning”
A wide grin spread across her face before it turned into a frown..
“No!” she responded firmly.
Damien’s heart skipped a beat, the other’s chanting also stopped yelling as everywhere turned awfully silent..
Ouch!
“What?” he asked in a barely audible whisper..
Olivia grinned at his shocked expression, she stretched her left hand to him afterwards..
“Of course, I’d love to change my last name to Sterling.. what other response were you expecting?” She teased..
A sigh of relief left Damien’s lips, his once down casted mood lifted up in seconds, he slid the gem on her finger and planted a soft kiss on it afterwards..
Claps filled the air turning the once quiet diner into something else..
Damien rose up to his feet and pulled Olivia up with him into a deep embrace..
“You scared me for a second there” Damien complained..
“I guess my plan worked..” She replied in between small laughs..
Damien pulled back from the embrace holding her shoulders, he shook his head slowly, he had a feeling that his new relationship was about to become just like his parent’s..
A dramatic wife wasn’t so bad after all. He leaned his face closer to hers and locked their lips together..
