Chapter 59 Helplessness
Chapter 59 Helplessness
Lily didn't hear anything after a long while, which made her feel gloomy.
Fear and panic filled in her heart. Worrying about her father's safety brought a little courage to her. She quickly ran to a small window by the prison door and knocked at the glass window.
"Anybody there?"
"Who is it? It's so late. What are you doing here instead of going to bed?" The warden opened the window impatiently.
He was tired of the night shift, but there was still someone disturbing him.
"Please, I want to see Haber Wen. I'm his daughter and heard that he was injured. I want to see him. Can you make an exception?" Lily said with anxiety and fear on her face.
"No way! It's too late. According to the rule, family members are not allowed to visit the prisoner. You'd better go back now." The warden waved his hand and was about to drive her away.
"Please, let me in! My father is in danger inside. I want to see him. Please let me in!" Lily pleaded, grasping the iron fence near the window tightly.
Although the person on the phone didn't make it clear, subconsciously, she believed what he said.
"No way! I've told you that you can't get in. That's the rule. It's not up to me. Get out!" The warden drove away Lily like she was a fly. He banged the window close, as if refusing to be disturbed.
Lily was very upset. The condition of her father was like a big stone pressing on her chest, making her out of breath. She was worried, but there was nothing she could do. Her lonely figure looked so helpless and weak in the cold wind.
She walked around the prison and found that every wall there was built tall.
The way to climb in wouldn't work. But she couldn't just leave him.
Lily became more worried. She called back the number and as she expected, it was off. She called Kevin but he didn't answer.
After waiting there for a while, the cold wind blew on her body, letting her unconsciously chill.
She went back to the car and kept calling Kevin, but nobody answered. At last, she had to drive back.
It was getting late when she got home. Kevin hadn't come back yet.
Sitting on the sofa and waiting, Lily made a phone call from time to time. Until now, she finally understood that the last straw for her was Kevin. She had no idea who would give her any help except Kevin at this time.
She had been calling for many times, but still no one answered.
In the end, Lily just felt uncomfortable and helpless. She curled up, sat on the sofa and wrapped her arms around her knees, trying to warm herself in this way.
At the same time, Lois was forcibly taken away from the celebration banquet. Her hair was disheveled, and she looked disgraced. Her pink dress was stained, losing its previous glory.
She stretched out her hand and stopped a taxi. Without any hesitation, she got into the car and shouted at the driver, "get out of this damn place!"
She would definitely become a laughingstock in everyone's eyes from today on. ZY Group might press down the news and the media wouldn't report what happened today.
But just thinking about her disgrace in front of the rich and powerful people, she could not wait to kill Lily.
Lois ground her teeth, and with her eyes red and ferocious face, her fingers clenched into a fist. Her ferocious appearance was like a beast trying to eat humans, making people dare not approach. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
The driver was startled. He looked carefully at the woman in the back seat through the mirror, then secretly shifted his gaze and started the car.
After driving aimlessly on the road for nearly ten minutes, the driver asked softly, "where do you want to go?"
Lois glanced at him and told him an address. The wound in her foot was bleeding, and the prickling pain was like a knife stabbing her heart fiercely.
She recalled that Kevin treated Lily very gently at the banquet and he dearly loved Lily, as if she was the treasure in his hands. When she was about to hurt Lily, Kevin kicked her away.
At that moment, he was extremely cold and ruthless.
But what about her?
With a heavy fall and an injury, Kevin only glanced at her and comforted Lily gently. Then she was taken out of the room like a drowned mouse. She had become a joke.
What had happened in the banquet kept resounding in her mind. She felt more painful, as if someone gripped by her throat, which made her feel suffocated and uncomfortable.
"Lily, I won't let you off!" Lois smiled angrily, and suddenly burst into laughter.
The smirk was both crazy and insane.
She took out her phone and frantically looked for someone to help her. When she was about to turn the page over in despair, her eyes fell on a name.
"Michael..." She murmured.
It reminded her of this man. He was Lily's ex-boyfriend. He was greedy for money and lust, hanging around on the street without attending to the proper business, and always made his grandfather want to beat the bastard to death.
A smile crept up on Lois's face. He must knew something about Lily. Plus what had happened recently, he definitely hated Lily, too.
Thinking of this, Lois quickly dialed the number of Michael.
"Hello." When she just heard the voice from the other end of the phone, Lois directly interrupted him, "I'm Lois. I plan to make a deal with you."
"I'm busy." The harsh music and the loud noise of the crowd came from the phone, which stimulated Lois's nerves and made her feel more painful.
She frowned. What he was busy with was nothing but playing, drinking and flirting with girls. Lois was a little impatient and asked coldly, "there is the business of ten million. Are you going to do it?"
"What business?" Speaking of money, Michael became interested immediately. Recently, because of Lily, his credit card was cut off by his grandfather.
Now he have to hang out relying on his friends. At this moment, money had a fatal attraction to him.
"Wait for me at Joy Coffee at the downtown intersection in ten minutes." Lois said, and then she hung up the phone.
Then, she told the driver to turn around and drive to the downtown. She changed a dress in the nearest clothing shop and threw the pink dress into the trash can.
At this moment, her hatred for Lily reached to the peak.
Her clothes were so rough which made her feel very uncomfortable. Frowning, Lois arrived at the appointed place.
After a short while, they met each other. Michael immediately put on a flattering smile and said, "you must be Miss Bai? You are a popular actress and the most famous one. I like watching your TV very much."
