Chapter 76
Chapter 76
Candice was organizing the file, and her hand paused. She raised her eyes and looked at Alex, who
had already looked away, focusing his attention on the contract in front of him.
“Is it because you have something you need to pick up?” Mr. Welch said at this time. He then carefully
asked Alex. “Maybe I can go pick it up? I did ask Ms. Renault to prepare a form for me, and I think she
still needs to cross-check the data.”
While no one knew if he understood the coldness In Alex’s tone, he looked at him earnestly.
Alex’s attention was turned toward him, but when he opened his mouth again, his tone was filled with a
little irritation. “You’re quite good at telling others to do work for you.”
Mr. Welch rubbed his hands together. He was also quite nervous, as the branch wasn’t doing well. The
branch could also work on the form, but he simply thought that as Candice was someone Alex brought
along with him, so Alex should somewhat respect her, right?
Candice didn’t know what he was plotting, but she simply took out a printed report and gave it to Alex.
“The market direction for the past three months is all here.”
Alex gave her a faint glance and then looked at her hand, which was still red. He snorted. “Looks like
you’re quite accustomed to this place already.”
Candice paused before pulling back her hand and mumbling, “It’s work.”
The topic of the meeting was still about the market. The meeting room wasn’t that large. Candice was
sitting opposite Alex with some documents next to her, so she could pass them to Alex when he
needed them.
However, two minutes before the meeting started, Sonia suddenly said, “Ms. Renault, you can give me
the documents. I can pass it to Alex later.”
However, their branch company’s documents were quite messy, and it took even Candice a long time
before she could fully organize them. Not to mention that, as Candice had her own system of doing
things, so another person might not be able to find the needed document as easily. And so, she
reflexively said, “It’s fine. I’ve arranged everything, so it’s more convenient.”
The smile on Sonia’s face froze for a moment before she gritted her teeth and said, “Ms. Renault, I can
do it
too.”
Only after Candice finished responding did she realize that Sonia’s real intention was not about passing
the documents.
She looked down and pushed all the documents toward her without saying anything.
However, as Sonia had never personally organized all of this, she couldn’t catch up to Alex’s speed
when she was looking for the documents. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Alex had to wait for two minutes for her to catch up.
Sonia could still keep calm in the beginning, but her face began to become pale as time went on.

Since Alex demanded some data to be the most current, they hadn’t had the time to save it into the
drive yet. And so, everything had been printed out, and it would take a lot of effort to arrange it.
When trying to find one of the comparison charts, Sonia couldn’t find it for a very long time. In the end,
all she could do was to ask Candice with a frown. “Ms. Renault, did you forget to create this one?”
Candice looked at the stacks of documents that Sonia had already messed up.
Sonia looked at her. There was a hint of relaxation in her eyes as she blinked and looked at Alex. It
was obvious she was annoyed, but she still spoke innocently. “Alex, it’s not Ms. Renault’s fault. I
couldn’t find it.”
Alex’s cold, black eyes turned toward Candice.
He couldn’t even suppress the frigid aura that he was exuding. He was moments away from exploding.
“In the blue folder with a green sticker. There’s a black mark on the upper right-hand corner. That’s the
one,” Candice said, as she looked into Alex’s cold eyes.
There was a glint of light in Alex’s eyes as he followed her words and singled out that report.
