No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 355

It wasn't just Donovan who was shocked. Noelle was also taken aback.

She had heard of Liam—he was famous and incredibly skilled.

Even the Liddell family's defense lawyer stood up, clearly excited. "Liam, I didn't expect the opposing lawyer to be you. My apologies."

"There's no need to apologize. We're all just doing our jobs. Please, take a seat."noveldrama

Liam smiled warmly, walking over to Noelle. "Ms. Liddell, I've reviewed the materials on the way here. Do you have any specific demands regarding the outcome?"

The outcome of the lawsuit?

Noelle hadn't expected someone with such a powerful background to be representing her. The victory was all but guaranteed with him here.

Donovan couldn't help but speak up. "Noelle, think carefully. Consider what I told you earlier.

"Frank is willing to hand over the entire company to you. Doesn't that mean more than the salary from a company like Maple Enterprise?"

Noelle glanced at him. "You didn't mention that just now."

His tone had changed far too abruptly.

Donovan shot a glance at Liam. He didn't want this either, but their chances of winning were slim, with Liam on the opposing side.

Liam typically worked exclusively for the Greene family and would never take on small cases. Let alone one utterly unrelated to them.

There was no way Noelle could have hired him, right?

Noelle could see the panic creeping into Donovan's expression. She turned to Liam and said, "I want to win, and I want those who made mistakes to face the consequences."

That was the outcome she was after.

Lucas stared at Noelle in disbelief. He didn't expect her to be so cold-hearted.

Donovan slammed his hand on the table. "Noelle, do you think Mom and Dad would be at peace if they knew you were sending your brother to prison?

"When you were little, it was Lucas who played with you, who took care of you. Have you forgotten that?"

"I haven't forgotten, and none of it can be forgotten."

She couldn't forget everything the Liddell family had done to her over the years. She also couldn't forget the betrayal of her previous life, where she had been abandoned and died tragically.

She owed them nothing anymore.

Just as Noelle was about to speak, Liam slammed his hand on the table. "Mr. Donovan, you can't threaten or intimidate my client."

"She's my sister, I'm just trying to teach her."

"Ms. Noelle is an adult. She is not a pet of the Liddell family, and she doesn't need anyone to dictate her decisions."

Liam's words were sharp and decisive.

The lawyers on both sides took turns speaking, with Liam firmly rejecting any chance of a pre-trial settlement.

Donovan was immediately silenced. He turned to look at Lucas. "It's not that I don't want to help you, I've done my best."

Now that Noelle had Liam on her side, their chances of winning were nonexistent. Lucas tugged at the corner of his mouth but said nothing.

Noelle sneered. "Mr. Donovan, actually, you could take on all the responsibility for him."

Donovan's expression froze, his anger rising. "Noelle, stop being sarcastic. What goes around comes around. Can you really face Mom and Dad?"

A sharp pain pierced her heart when Noelle heard him mention their parents.

She stood up, her expression calm but her voice cold. "Then you can die and ask them yourself."

After all, she had died once before.

Noelle gathered her documents and left, unwilling to stay in the same room as the Liddell family any longer.

"Noelle, how dare you curse me?"

Donovan tried to chase after her, but when he saw Liam, he immediately calmed down.

He turned to Liam politely. "Mr. Rodrick, I didn't expect someone as busy as you would have time to take on such a small case. Do you know Noelle?"

He didn't realize Noelle had connections with someone so influential.

"I'm representing Maple Enterprise Corporation, at their request."

Liam's words only deepened Donovan's confusion. Who could have asked Liam to take on this case?

Donovan wanted to ask more, but Liam didn't give him the chance and quickly followed Noelle out.
