No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle was speechless.

Cedric tossed his phone aside. Then, he drove home in a good mood.

When Noelle recalled his text, she couldn't help but send him an angry emoji. She didn't mean for the text to be an innuendo.

The next day, Noelle was woken up by her phone's ringing. She didn't have class

in the morning, so she had been planning on sleeping in.

After getting woken up, she asked unpleasantly, "Who is it?"

"Noelle, I didn't think you would be so ruthless and wanted me dead. I've already confessed to all those crimes. Why did you have to let the media know about that? Are you insistent on destroying my life?" Lucas was enraged.

Noelle sat up and yawned. "There must be something wrong with you. When have I ever sent this to the media?"

"Look at the news about the esports industry. Who else would do that apart from you?"

Upon seeing the news, Lucas knew that his career was done for. His sponsors had been calling him non-stop, wanting to terminate their contract.

The manager said that many teammates were planning on pulling out.

Lucas was furious. "Noelle, I admit that I have my faults. Even if I were imprisoned, I'd resign myself to it. Why are you going to such extents?"

Noelle turned on her phone and saw the news Lucas had been talking about.

"Liddell Corporation has been accused of stealing business secrets. An esports professional did the stealing himself."

She eyed the contents of the article. It illustrated how Donovan's company had stolen business secrets, but didn't mention what exactly those secrets were. There was no mention of Noelle's name either.

However, their stocks had plummeted after the scandal broke.

After reading it, Noelle said coldly, "No matter whether you believe it or not, I didn't do it."

"Who else would do that?"

"If you're insistent on believing that, I can't do anything about it. After all, the contents of the article aren't fabricated. It's the truth."

Noelle didn't want to explain herself to them. They could misunderstand her all they wanted. It wasn't like this was the only misunderstanding they had.

"Noelle, I don't owe you anything for the past few years. We're even now!" Lucas then hung up.

Noelle glanced at her phone with a mocking glint in her eye. However, she was curious as well. Who had done it?

She sent Alfred a text and asked, "Are you the one behind this?"

He was the only person she could think of who could've done it.

Alfred coughed awkwardly. "How did you know?" Had she found something?

"I don't know anyone else capable of doing this other than you. Justin will give you hell for this."

After all, Xenia would be running to Justin.

"Yeah, Cedric told me about it."

Alfred was mind blown. How could he? Cedric threw him under the bus to save his own hide. Fine!

"Noelle, it doesn't matter who I am. After all, we're friends. Tell me if Justin bullies you."

She smiled. Justin wasn't capable of that.

Noelle blurted out, "How did you know Cedric? What did he work as?"
