No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 373

Noelle watched his face close the distance. Her head had gone blank. Suddenly, they heard voices outside. The two of them then came to their senses. Noelle extracted herself from his arms and left without looking back.

Cedric stood in place. His eyes were dark as he lifted a hand to touch his lips. He had to admit that there were some things which were out of his control. His desire was to get close to her, hug her, and kiss her.

He leaned against the wall and massaged his shoulder. Instinctively, he pulled a cigarette out and lit it.

Noelle ran out. She stood outside and rubbed her face. In the mirror, she could see how flushed her face was. She walked over and splashed cold water on her face. After calming herself down for a while more, she left the toilet.

She couldn't help but watch the fire escape. Had Cedric left? Noelle didn't walk over to confirm it and went back to her office.

When she walked into the meeting room, everyone was present.

Alfred sat in the center. Upon seeing Noelle return, he raised a brow. Why was she back this fast? Her face seemed a little flushed. How was Cedric consoling her? Noelle was silent and said nothing.

Alfred said, "Since everyone is here, let's begin."

The manager remarked, "Mr. Greene isn't here yet."

Upon hearing the mention of Cedric, she felt like Alfred was looking at her. He smiled and said, "Don't wait for him. Let's begin."

Noelle was dreaming a bit while looking at the documents in hand. However, she quickly adjusted. Noelle had found a solution to the bug they discovered and had written a proposal.

When she focused on working, she forgot what happened.

Alfred watched Noelle focus. He pulled his phone out and texted Cedric. "The meeting will begin now. Where are you? Noelle has composed herself so quickly. Tell me how you helped her."

Cedric replied, "Fuck off!"

Alfred smiled mockingly. Hadn't Cedric said she didn't need to be consoled. In the end, he still went up and did it, hypocritical men.

After the meeting, Noelle paused an drank water.

She noticed that Cedric had returned to the office. Just now, she hadn't paid him any attention. However, she averted her eyes quickly. When Cedric looked up at her, she turned to speak to her colleagues, looking very serious about something. However, she'd seem like a meek little kitten with no place to go in the fire escape. She never made eye contact with Cedric after this.

Alfred noticed. He mocked Cedric for it. Had Cedric fucked it up?

After the meeting, everyone left gradually. Noelle tidied her documents and lookednoveldrama

up at Alfred. "Right, I'll be heading back to school. If there's any problem with the project, I'll come over when needed."

"Noelle, get some rest for the next few days. It's the weekend after all."

"Got it."

Noelle glanced over Cedric, grabbed her things, and left the meeting room. Cedric stood up and said, "I'll take you."

"It's fine, I'll take a cab back."

Noelle walked even faster. Cedric watched her leave with Alfred saying, "How had you consoled her? Why is she acting like a mouse who just saw a cat?"

"Don't ask. You're too single for this."

Cedric left in her footsteps.

Alfred was dumbstruck. He pointed at himself. "You're calling me single? Aren't you single too?"

He was a long way from pursuing his girlfriend. His challenges had barely begun.

However, after the doors to the elevator closed, it opened once more. Noelle watched as he strode in and stood beside her.
