Oops, I’ve Been Exposed

Chapter 36 by Lorelei Thunder

“And who are you, kiddo? You’d better stay out of this, or you’ll get it!”

Roman glared at Woody. 30 thousand dollars was within his reach. Given Woody’s sudden interruption, it wasn’t surprising that he was mad.

Roman knew that Shane and Mindy were timid, which was why he was bold enough to come over and extort them. He only had to show up for them to owe him more than 80 thousand dollars. No matter how he looked at it, it was a profit, so he was willing to do it.

Shane wanted to get into as little trouble as possible, so he said, “Woody, you have no idea how powerful Mr. Jett is. Don’t get involved in this. Just let me handle it.”

The lackey in charge of the calculations grinned gleefully, snorting as he said, ” At least you know what’s good for you. You know you can’t afford to mess with Roman.

“Some idiots would rather give up their lives than their money, and they ruined their families in the end.

“There’s this Clark family in Southpoint where Roman forced the dude into a corner. The dude thought he could avoid paying his debt if he jumped off a building.

“Unbeknownst to him, not long after his death, Roman brought us along and captured his wife and daughter.

“Now, his wife works as a janitor at the entertainment complex, and his daughter is in charge of hosting. They are now colleagues, and they’re working together to pay off his debt!

“If you don’t want to be in the same situation, you better pay up. You’re paying money to get yourself out of trouble. Consider yourselves lucky.”

Shane was terrified by the threats being hurled at him. He hastily nodded and said, “I’ll give you the money! The boy doesn’t know about these things, so please don’t find fault with him.”

With that, Shane took out his phone to transfer the money. He had saved up the 30 thousand dollars by living frugally with Mindy for the past few months.

Even though they had cleared their debts, they knew Woody would be penniless when he got out of jail. They wanted to be prepared to help him in case Woody’s in-laws looked down on him.

Shane had already intended to use this money for Woody anyway. So when Trudy and her husband came over to cheat them of their money, Shane reluctantly agreed.

Woody raised his hand to stop Shane. He said sternly, “Shane, I’ve already told you, don’t give them any money!”

The smile on Roman’s face instantly disappeared. Fury replaced it as he angrily shouted, “Kid, you should appreciate our generosity. How dare you keep interrupting us like that? Guys, get him! Teach him a lesson for meddling in other people’s business!”

Four tall lackeys immediately grabbed their sticks and swung them at Woody.

“Stop! Please stop! I’ll give you the money!”

“Too late, old man! He has to pay for this no matter what!”

Woody dashed forward, knocking over the four men effortlessly. The ferocious -looking guys, used to bullying the weak, were powerless against Woody. They were nothing compared to his great strength.

In the blink of an eye, all four of them were lying on the ground, groaning in pain. Shane and Mindy were shocked.

They had always thought of Woody as an elegant and refined man. Be it at school or work, he had never gotten into a fight or argued with someone before. They couldn’t believe how good Woody was at fighting.

Although Woody was taking on four guys, he was utterly unscathed while his opponents were lying motionless on the ground. Shane and Mindy simply couldn’t believe it. They thought they were seeing things!

“How dare you fight my lackeys? Damn you, who exactly are you?” Roman was beginning to panic, and he subconsciously took a few steps backward.

“You do not deserve to know my name, “Woody said as he walked closer to him.

“Stay away!” Roman suddenly took out a dagger, waving it as he threatened, ” If you dare take even a step forward, I’ll

But before he could finish his sentence, Woody grabbed his forearm.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
