Suzanna stood frozen, her mind racing as she tried to comprehend what had just happened. Her ring finger on her right hand had been severed cleanly by Melody with a sharp scalpel.

Blood poured out uncontrollably, splattering across her face and hair. The pain was unbearable.

She felt numb, as though her muscles were about to tear away from her bones. Everything around her seemed to blur, and a high-pitched ringing filled her ears, making it feel as if she was on the verge of passing out. But the pain was only beginning.
