Chapter 1508
The dramatic scenarios often seen in novels and TV shows rarely happen in real life. In reality, the truth was often far harsher. Their family was doing well now. Some people disappeared for so long that their return would only disrupt the peace of their lives.
Finn could tell that Harvey had recognized him. He knew Janine was someone deeply attached to family, so she would never let the kids grow up without knowing about their father. That meant she must have shown them family photos.
When Harvey suddenly changed his expression and refused to acknowledge him, Finn wasn't surprised.
"Harvey, you know who I am. You've got some time now, right? Let's sit down and talk. Give me a chance."
Harvey's face remained cold as he responded, "I already told you, my father passed away years ago. If you really are my father, where have you been for the past 20 years? Showing up now and claiming to be my father, don't you think that's a bit too presumptuous?" With that, he slammed the trunk shut and walked toward the car door.
Finn was slightly taken aback by Harvey's cold response but quickly followed him. "There are some things that can't be explained in just a few words. How about we have a meal together?"
"No need. Don't come looking for me again, and don't disturb my family," Harvey said, his tone as icy as ever.
With that, Harvey stepped on the gas and sped away from Finn, leaving him standing there. Finn looked at Harvey, who was so guarded against him, his brows tightly furrowed.
He never expected Harvey to be just as cold and indifferent as Charles and Steven.
Before coming to Harvey, Finn had already visited Steven and Charles. Both had completely ignored him, and Steven had even warned him not to approach Janine. Alas, Harvey was no different.
Finn's expression darkened further.
...
Harvey drove back to his apartment. After opening the fridge and drinking a bottle of soda, he finally calmed himself. The shock of seeing that man just 20 minutes earlier still hadn't fully worn off.
"Father?" He let out a bitter scoff.

It turned out his father hadn't died. He did have a father, but from the looks of it, this man who had
disappeared unexpectedly was now
living a good life.
If he had come looking for him ten years ago, he might have foolishly been happy to see him. But now, he despised him even more.
He wasn't sure whether Finn had
tried to contact Charles and Steven. As for Skylar, if Finn had
investigated, he should know her situation and probably wouldn't trynoveldrama
to reach out to her.
It seemed like he could only tell Skylar about this.
Skylar was on vacation at a hot spring resort with Joe when she received the call from Harvey. The two were still soaking in the hot spring.
"Have you finished moving into your new place?" Skylar asked with a smile.
Harvey replied, "I'm at the apartment now, just resting on the couch."
