Chapter 694
Colin furrowed his brows in thought for a moment. Then, he took my hand and led me out of the garden.
"No matter what happens, I won't violate my principles. I know what to do. So, leave everything to me. Don't worry."
After a while, Xavier bounced over to us again and said that the present Colin gave him could only represent Colin. So, I had to give him a separate present.
Using his height and strength as an advantage, Colin pushed Xavier's head away. He said that he and I were a couple, so there was no need for me to give Xavier a separate present. Then, he told Xavier to stop daydreaming and to get lost.
But Xavier started jumping around like a monkey again. He was just like a little kid throwing a tantrum at me.
After the party, Colin and I said goodbye to the professor and his wife. We planned to go to the supermarket to buy some daily necessities before heading home.
November in Jinovy was quite cold. We had to wear windbreakers or wool coats although I preferred a warm and comfortable hoodie.
After leaving the supermarket and putting the groceries in the car, Colin took me to a nearby shopping mall to pick out some hoodies. Just as we started walking, we saw a couple about 50 feet away from us. They were engaged in a heated argument.
The man seemed to want to hold the woman, but the woman seemed to be drunk and was hitting the man uncontrollably while sobbing.
As we were quite far from them, I couldn't really hear what they were saying. I just knew it was something about him not loving her anymore and lying to her. When we walked closer, the man finally managed to hug the woman tightly in his arms.
She calmed down immediately like a docile rabbit, sobbing softly into the man's arms.
He breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. The look in his eyes beneath his glasses softened.
As they separated, the man happened to turn toward me.
It was him!
My heart plummeted, and I was stunned.
"What's wrong? Do you know them?" Colin asked me in a low voice.
"That man seems to be Chris Moyer, Zara's boyfriend."
Colin raised his eyebrows in surprise and turned to look again. "It really is him. What's he doing here? And who's that woman? They seem to be in a relationship."
I wanted to know too.
When I looked back at them, they were already kissing passionately.
Anger immediately surged up within me.
It was no wonder that he was so cold to Zara, hardly ever smiling. He was cheating on her and meeting another woman behind Zara's back. What a jerk!
I rolled up my sleeves, ready to go up to them. I had to get an explanation from him. My best friend was being cheated on. I couldn't just turn a blind eye, could I?
I would show this scumbag what I was capable of.
But Colin didn't give me the chance to act. He grabbed my collar and pulled me back. "What are you trying to do?"
I angrily pulled away from his grip. "He's cheating openly. I have to ask him why he's treating Zara like this. Is he that shameless?"
"Silly girl, don't act impulsively. How
long has it been since you last saw
Zara? How do you know that they haven't broken up? What if you're making a mistake by assuming he's cheating?" Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
I was stunned. What he said made sense.
"What should we do, then?"
"First, let's find out about the
situation before we do anything. It's better for two people to solve their matters together. It's not good for outsiders to meddle in their O relationship."
After we walked away, I turned back to look again. Their passionate kiss had ended, and they were now gazing lovingly at each other. Their eyes were filled with affection. Then, Chris said something that made the woman smile shyly with tears in her eyes.
