Chapter 3143
Chapter 3143
Serenity said, “Even if we can’t prove it this time, there’ll be other opportunities to do so. As long as she’s pretending, we can definitely find a flaw.
“Tasha doesn’t know Mrs. Longbottom or Carrie well. She probably can’t prove anything.”
Camryn agreed. “We’ll have to wait for another chance to present itself. I think Mrs. Longbottom is targeting you. You meet her much more often than I do.
“Do you ever see Mrs. Longbottom’s younger sister-in-law every time you bump into her at the preschool?”
Serenity answered, “No. She would always say that her sister-in-law just entered or wasn’t out yet. I don’t know if she’s telling the truth or not. I’ll hide in my car the next time I meet her to see if she truly picks up a child.
“Did something happen at your company?”
Serenity changed the topic.
“Just attending a few meetings and handling some important documents. Since I’ve regained my sight, I should check on the company occasionally. I can’t push all my responsibility onto Dal. Melissa is pregnant. If Dal’s workload is lessened, he’ll have more time to be with her.”
Upon hearing about Melissa’s pregnancy, Serenity congratulated Camryn, “Congratulations. You’re going to be an aunt.”
Camryn smiled. “Thank you. I’m also back because I found out Melissa’s pregnant. I wanted to visit her as well.”
She had bought plenty of supplements for Melissa.
Although Camryn and Dalton were not biological siblings, they have known each other for over a decade. She trusted Dalton, and he was loyal to her. Dalton had become a brotherly figure to her long ago.
Dalton may have had romantic feelings for Camryn before, but it was all in the past. He truly viewed her as a sister afterward.
Camryn had Callum, and Dalton had Melissa. They got married, and Melissa had gotten pregnant.
Dalton’s little family was complete.
Ever since he knew Camryn and Callum were dating, he felt relieved too. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
“Of course. You should go back to work. I’ll have to take Sonny to Duncan’s company later.”
“Mm. Let’s keep in touch.”
Camryn ended the call as Sonny exited the preschool.
“Aunt Ser.”
Upon spotting Serenity, Sonny broke into a smile and jogged toward her with his backpack.
Serenity stepped forward. When Sonny approached her, she held his hand and bade the teacher goodbye.
Sonny had a sticker on his forehead. He told Serenity happily, “I did well today, Aunt Ser. The teacher gave me a sticker.”
“Really? You’re awesome,” Serenity praised as they walked.
“I got a certificate too.”
Sonny added, “It’s in my bag.”
“What certificate is it?”
“It’s for good kids.”
Serenity smiled. “I bet every child has it, right?”
After a moment of silence, Sonny replied, “Yes.”
“Every child is a good kid, and you’re an especially good boy.”
Serenity knew that Sonny liked being complimented. She did raise him, after all. Therefore, she praised him right away.
Sonny’s expression brightened up.
After getting into the car, Serenity took his bag off his back.
“Aunt Ser, I want to have a video call with Mom. I want to tell her that I got a sticker and a certificate.”
Sonny took his certificate out of his bag while speaking.
