Chapter 31 - Take it Slow
At eight in the morning, they're already on their way to Huesca. The group brought two cars with them and they're planning to leave them at the airport's parking lot.
In Kobe's car, there's Honey, Bambi, and Ada, while in Jada's car were Steve, Robin, and Lyken. She insisted on driving to divert her attention.
Daniel and Natalie went straight to the airport. They were already there when they arrived. After double-checking their luggage, they boarded the plane.
Jada and Ada sat next to each other, and behind them were Bambi and Steve. Honey and Kobe were on their left side and Robin and Lyken were in front of them.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
The guests were on a different plane as they were late in booking their tickets. Fortunately, they found tickets with the same schedule as the group.
It took them two hours to reach Huesca Airport and another 20 minutes to reach the resort. The heat of the sun was already painful to the skin and they were all very sweaty.
When they reached the villa, everyone went straight to their assigned rooms. Honey informed us that they're meeting again after half an hour for a late lunch.
Jada's musing was interrupted when she heard light knocks on the door. That was only then that she realized that Ada's no longer in their room.
"Come in!" It was Lyken who came.
"Hi, I came to check on you," he told her in a low voice. Jada's brow flicked, confused. "Sorry, it's just that, you've been very quiet during our trip. I'm not used to it so I thought you're not feeling well," he explained, as he scratched the back of his head.
Jada just smiled faintly at him, "I'm fine! I'm just having a bit of a headache, maybe I'm having a hangover after last night," she lied.
Pushing himself away from the dresser where he was leaning, he sat down next to her on the bed. "Let's go, they're already waiting for us," then he reached out for her arm, lightly pulling her off of the bed.
Lyken let go of her when they stepped out of the room, but he reached out for her hand again, "If you're not okay, please let me know," he told her sweetly.
Jada turned to face him, wanting to say something but chose not to so she just turned to walk towards the direction of the restaurant. She even heard him let out a sigh before he followed her.
Everyone was already seated when they came. Daniel stood up to welcome her with a hug then she smiled at Natalie. Jada also noticed that they were having fun talking to each other so she didn't bother herself with Daniel.
They stayed at the restaurant for almost an hour, eating and talking at the same time. When they went out, the sun was still scorching hot so they decided to go back to their rooms first.
Jada laid down on the bed with her eyes closed, still trying to get rid of all the unnecessary thoughts, then she fell asleep. Not sure how long it's been, she woke up to someone lightly tapping her arm.
"Byotch, let's go! We're here to enjoy~" Ada told her as soon as she opened her eyes.
Jada just smiled at him as she pushed herself off of the bed. She moved the curtain a bit to peek from the window, it was almost sunset.
She quickly opened her luggage, grabbed a pair of bikinis and a kaftan, then went straight to the bathroom to get changed. When she stepped out, Ada was still there, waiting for her.
As they walked towards the group, men even whistled at them. She wasn't a bit happy but Ada's enjoying the attention.
"Wow, Jada! Aren't you a little too formal for the beach?" Steve teased.
Jada hit his arm as she placed her towel on the lounge chair near them. "Aren't you guys jumping in?" she asked.
"We were just waiting for you," Steve responded.
She quickly took off her kaftan and her lilac bikini was displayed. She saw how Steve, Robin, and Daniel's jaws fell open as they looked at her.
"Stop molesting me, you guys!" She spat at her friends as she smiled at Daniel.
"Wow, I didn't know you're this hot!" he exclaimed.
She flicked her hair at him and laughed again as she made her way to the beach. The water's not that cold so Jada jumped right in. After a while, she heard someone laughing and screaming, it's only then that she noticed they were already in the water.
She continued swimming but she kicked something so she tried to balance herself to check what or who it was. When Jada looked, it was Lyken who she saw near her, "Sorry," she muttered.
"It's fine," he simply answered. She was about to swim away when he called for her.
"Ja," whispering her name, she turned to him with her forehead creased. "You're a little off today. Is there something wrong?"
Jada just looked at him, straight to his eyes. He looked worried but she was anxious, but she didn't know why.
Instead of saying something, she just shook her head in response as she placed a hand on his cheek. Jada wanted to let him know through that, that she's fine and because of what he did, something was lifted off of her mind.
"Jadanela," he called again, "I know this is what you want, for us to be friends, to stay friends," he stated. "But I want you to know that I still love you. And even if it hurts that I can't even do anything about my feelings for you, that I can show you how important you are to me, it's okay. I'm fine with that, instead of losing you."
Jada can see tears lingering in his eyes. She bit her lower lip to stop hers. "Thank you, Ly, for understanding," then she let go of him and swam away.
Jada doesn't know but Lyken's words seem to have cured the wounds inside her. She doesn't want to acknowledge that but it definitely lifted something heavy inside her.
To be honest, she's hopeful too. She's hopeful that they can still go back to how they used to be. She wanted to relive the sweet times they had together.
If their love for each other can get rid of the anger in her heart, she'd want to give them one more chance. But she knows that this isn't the right time for that. All she knows right now is that she's happy after hearing what Lyken said.
It was already dark when the boys started setting up the bonfire. They don't know where Natalie and Daniel went but they didn't mind.
As the fire grew, they all started sitting around it. Kobe even laid down a blanket on the sand for Honey and him to sit on, while Steve and Robin sat close to them. Ada and Bambi laid down their blankets as well.

As Jada walked towards them, she saw Lyken laying a blanket on the sand and when he saw her, he gestured for her to sit there. Jada smiled at him as she did.
"Where is Natalie?" he asked, grabbing a handful of sand and throwing it to his feet.
"You're too slow, Daniel already got him," she teased but he just rolled his eyes at her.
"Why did you guys leave your dates alone?" Steve asked as he looked at her and Lyken.
"Blame him," Jada responded as she pointed at Lyken. "He didn't tie Natalie to his waist," then she chuckled.
Jada felt him move closer, placing his chin on her shoulder as he whispered, "You're all I need!" it was indeed a whisper but Jada heard it clearly. She turned and nudged at him, creasing her brows. "That wasn't cheesy Ly!" Robin stated. Jada didn't know they heard it but Lyken blushed. He even covered his face as he turned to face the opposite direction.
"Why? What was that?" Steve pried and Robin repeated what Lyken said. They all started laughing and Jada couldn't help but join in. Lyken, on the other hand, turned tomato red in embarrassment. "Why dude? Did you and Jada level up? Are you now BF-GF's instead of BFFs?" Steve teased.
"We're fixing things, man," he responded without even turning to face them.
Everyone started laughing again. "Good luck dude!" Steve told him as he raised his hand for a high five with Jada.
She shook her head at him. She wanted to refute but she stopped herself. Maybe that's what she wanted to happen too. For them to fix things.
Jada won't even deny that. Because at this very moment, all she wants is to stay right next to Lyken for the whole night.
