Eileen bit her lip and scanned the room anxiously.

She needed Kinsey’s approval to leave; otherwise, she would have departed immediately.

“There are so many people here. He might not even see you. It’s best if you don’t stay with Kinsey,” Eileen said. She had already warned Julio beforehand not to approach her at the event to start a conversation, and he would pretend they were strangers.

Thus, Dalores staying by her side wouldn’t increase the likelihood of running into Julio.

“Just saw Mr. Dawson. Gabriela has really grown! It’s wonderful that you both can bring her along wherever you go.”
