Chapter 796
Chapter 796:
“You’re tired, take a nap,” Bryan suggested. “Considering how things are progressing, if you want to fulfill your grandmother’s wish for your mother to rest in the family’s cemetery, you’ll need to put in more effort in the future.”
Bryan suddenly narrowed his eyes as he glanced at the brightly lit hotel. Then, he spotted a familiar figure emerging from the shadows.
The speed of the car was so fast that Bryan only caught a fleeting glimpse of the man, who seemed to be one of Julio’s associates.
“Did Dalores attend the banquet today?” Bryan asked, his tone casual.
“Yes, she met Julio, but she left early. I doubt she’ll want to see him again,” Eileen replied, her eyes closed. She looked utterly drained. Bryan decided it was best not to ask any more questions and averted his gaze.
When Dalores stepped out of the hotel, she was still shivering, despite her thick down jacket. The weather was too cold. Kinsey had brought her here, but it was clear that getting a ride back with him wasn’t an option. She headed to the roadside and tried to catch a taxi to get back.
Since parking was prohibited directly in front of the hotel, she had to walk a little further to the main road. She had just taken a few steps when someone suddenly caught up with her.
“It’s late, and not exactly safe for you to be out here alone. Let me drive you home.”
Dalores stared at the man in front of her, realizing she had no idea who he was. His demeanor was far from reassuring.noveldrama
Dalores put some distance between them and forced a polite smile. “No, thank you.”

“Come now, no need to be shy. If I’m offering to drive you home at this hour, I’m sure you know what that means,” the man said, chasing after her.
Dalores had never worn high heels before; today was her first attempt. She walked awkwardly, struggling to shake the man off, her discomfort growing with each step.
She hesitated to move toward the darker edge and gasped, saying, “Sir, we don’t know each other. I can pretend I didn’t hear what you said, but if you keep this up, I’ll have to call the police!”
“Of course you don’t know me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be making this offer to you,” the man flirted shamelessly, a sly smile on his lips as he eyed her figure with obvious desire. “Come on, we’re adults. Why not have a little fun with me?”
He continued to pester Dalores, cornering her until she had nowhere left to escape.
As Julio exited the hotel, a familiar voice reached his ears. He lit a cigarette, squinted, and began walking in that direction. But as he listened to the conversation, he quickly pieced together what was happening in the dimly lit corner. He narrowed his cold eyes and rolled up his sleeves before striding forward.
Suddenly, Dalores shouted, “I’m married! If you keep bothering me, my husband won’t let you get away with it!”
Julio came to a sudden halt. His thin lips parted slightly, and the cigarette between his fingers billowed smoke.
His expression darkened.
“Let me go!” Dalores yelled. The man gripped her shoulder and began dragging her toward the parking lot.
