Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1494

The next moment, Wayne tripped over a stray wire and sprawled face-first onto the concrete, his eyes squeezed shut as he wailed at the top of his lungs.

Leo picked him up, dusted off his own hands, and glanced back. "Mia, that's the power switch. It could shock you."

Mia froze mid-action, watching her son get into trouble again. She gripped a wooden stick and, with a swift flick, snapped it clean in two. "Henry!"

The crack startled Henry, making him stop in his tracks, and even Chunky jumped.

Waving the half-stick like a pointer, Mia fixed Henry with a glare. "Don't even think about taking another step. One more move, and I'll make sure your dad doesn't recognize you when I'm done."

Her little tiger cub was properly spooked, frozen on the spot.

Mia tossed the broken stick aside and dashed over to scoop Henry away from the power source. "You little rascal! Are you trying to get yourself in trouble? Feeling extra brave today? Do you want to lose those hands?"

Henry clamped a hand over his mouth, and a second later, burst into tears-the first time he'd ever cried from being scolded.

Molly, quick to catch on, tossed her own stick and hurried to Leo, picking up her son as well.

Mia's kid might be a handful, but Molly's boy idolized him, copying every naughty move. Molly held her son tight, determined not to let him down for even a second.

Wayne shot his mom a puzzled look, wondering why she was suddenly so protective and full of motherly love.

Leo looked around at the chaos. "You four should really head out. I'm only getting work done here because Ms. Anya's gone for the summer. If you all stick around, I'll end up worrying about both your families."

Within two hours, both families were packed up and sent on their way.

Chunky walked them out, watching the cars drive off. Then he turned to Leo. "Hey, Leo, do you have another uncle or something?"

Leo shook his head. "Nope. Just the one."

"So that sweet aunt and polite cousin you mentioned are they, like, distant relatives?" Chunky pressed, picturing someone nothing like the stick-breaking mom and the kid obsessed with sockets.

Leo hesitated. “... Not really. I made that up."

Chunky fell silent, looking a little betrayed. Leo scratched his head, embarrassed. "Don't compare

yourself to my uncle. He's had a netnoveldrama

rough time. But you, Chunky-you'll find a gentle wife and have a well-behaved kid of your own day, right?"

Word has it, to make it up to Chunky, Leo promised him a hotpot dinner, and the two of them ate over six hundred bucks' worth in one go.

Chunky, who'd just lost thirteen pounds, managed to gain back nine in that single meal-only to mope about it the next day.

Back home, Mia barely got through the door before Andre came back that evening and was immediately ambushed by his wife and son, each eager to lodge their complaints.

"Daddy, Mommy yelled at me and made me cry!" Henry ran up, his lips quivering.

Mia pointed at their son. "Honey, he

switch Leo's place is basically a construction zone! I was so panicked, I thought my heart was going to leap right out of my chest.”

Andre looked down at his knee-high son. "You tried messing with the power again?"

Their little daredevil just grinned, letting out a cheeky "Yeah!"

Mia looped her arm through her husband's and called out, "Henry, you lost. Daddy's on my side."

Henry had no clue how he'd lost, but he figured it out that night.

Turns out, he'd tried to mess with the outlets and wires more than once.

That night, Andre sat on the couch, rubbing his hands together to build up static, Mia watched him, curious, while Henry-thinking it was some new game-hurried over, totally clueless that this was Mom and Dad's new way to teach him a lesson.
