Chapter 910
"W-What did you just say?" Theodore asked in disbelief.
Wilson explained, "My father once received a top-secret directive from Croedal. His mission was to put an end to Harvey's inhumane experiments. To achieve this, he went to great lengths to gain Harvey's trust and infiltrate his research lab.
"After enduring countless dangers, he finally gathered irrefutable evidence of Harvey's use of human subjects. Under pressure from multiple nations, his experiments were forcibly shut down."
Wilson paused for a moment, his gaze settling on Theodore. "Mr. Maximillian, because you were once part of Harvey's research team, I suspect that my father was also ordered to investigate you."
Theodore's breath hitched as his face aged with sorrow. He said in anguish, "So it was all my fault. If I hadn't been so reckless in my youth and joined Harvey, my wife and daughter would still be alive today. Harvey would not have had reason to target them."
Yvette interrupted with a determined tone, "It wasn't your fault. Harvey's thirst for revenge cost innocent lives. He deserves to die!"
"She's right, Mr. Maximillian," added Xavier, steadying Theodore with a firm grip. "Harvey should be held responsible."
Theodore's shoulders eased slightly, though his eyes burned with renewed hatred. "I will kill Harvey myself. I'll have justice served for my wife and daughter."
He continued with a solemn expression, "I thought Harvey was long dead, but now I suspect he's still alive. Worse yet, I believe he's the power lurking behind DY organization.
"Back then, Harvey was already obsessed with human experimentation. I thought he had died long ago, so I never suspected him. But it seems he's become more twisted than ever.
"Compared to adults, infants and children have a higher success rate in his horrid experiments. That's why he's targeting them on such a large scale."
The room fell silent, the gravity of Theodore's words sinking in. Everyone's faces darkened.
Theodore let out a long sigh. "Harvey isn't just an exceptionally gifted scientist. He's cautious and deeply manipulative. He's not someone we can take down easily. Getting our hands on the formula for the drug is near impossible. Getting him to reveal himself would benoveldrama
extraordinarily difficult too."
"Not necessarily," Yvette said with determination.
Theodore turned to her instantly. "Do you have an idea?"
"Harvey has been trying to capture me, hasn't he?" Yvette said casually, her lips curving slightly. "We use me as bait. If I can lure him out of the shadows, we'll have the chance to take him down."
"No way!" Both Wilson and Xavier spoke in unison, their voices firm with opposition.
"Yvie, that's far too dangerous! We won't let you risk yourself like that," Wilson said, his expression grim.
Xavier's tense demeanor mirrored his as the air grew palpably heavy with unease.
Yvette arched a brow, her lips curling into a teasing smile. "I didn't realize you two were so in sync."
Wilson wasn't in the mood for
banter. His face was grave with
worry as he urged, "Promise me that
you won't put yourself in danger for
this. He couldn't bear the thought of her stepping into harm's way.
But Yvette stood her ground. "This is the only way to get Harvey to show himself."
What do you think?
