The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée

Do we really need to have children?

Roman’s POV

I was beyond smitten with Sofie. I smiled in adoration as I watched her wake up from her sleep with a loud yawn and a big stretch.

“What time is it?” She yawned.

“Good morning to you too.” I playfully huffed before pressing a light kiss to her lips.

She giggled, “Hope you slept well?”

“I should be the one asking you that question, doll.” I smirked as my eyes took in the image of her disheveled hair and the dark red hickeys scattered around her neck and body.

As I pounded into her last night, I had yanked her by her hair while she screamed my name aloud with her back arched. I had never been more thankful for soundproofing the entire house like I was yesterday night.

The lewd thoughts of the previous night drifted into my mind, causing heat to pool in my guts as I stared at her.

Her face reddened as she weakly punched my chest, “Shut up.”

“You weren’t saying that last night, doll.” I teased and she made to pull herself away from my hold, with her pretty face contorting in mock anger.

“What are your plans for today?” I asked, when she finally relaxed, and made herself comfortable in my hold.

“I need to visit the obs-” She stopped herself, “Nothing. All my classes for the day were canceled.”

“Oh.” I mumbled.

“It’s past ten, you are not going to work?” Sofie asked, peering up at me and I nodded.

“Yes, I’m taking the day off to be with you.

Fuck, I was so whipped for Sofie.

I couldn’t believe the day would come that I’d proudly make corny-ass statements like that.

But I guessed that was what love did to people; It turned them into cheesy suckers like me.

It was not like I felt ashamed though, I could never be bashful to display and proclaim my love for Sofie.

Yes, that was how cliché I had gotten.

“How did you know my classes were going to be canceled today?” She asked, molding herself closer to me.

“I’m a seer.” I chuckled, to which she scoffed.

A comfortable silence enveloped the ambiance as we basked in each other’s warm, calming presence.

“Can you tell me about them?” Sofie asked after some moments had passed.

“Them? Who?”

“Your parents, it’s fine if you don’t want to. I just wanted to know what they were like. What am I even saying, you were barely a toddler when they died, so you can’t remember a lot. Forgive my ignorance and forget I eve-” I cut her ramble short by kissing her; a kiss always proved to be the best solution to Sofie’s nervous ramblings.

When she leaned into the kiss and tried to slip her tongue into my mouth, I drew back with a chuckle, “It’s fine. Although, you are right, I don’t really have any good recollection of them, the memories have gotten pretty blurry with time.” I said before my mind diverted to some years back, when I had just clocked fifteen and it suddenly registered to me that I couldn’t recall my parents facial features anymore.

In a huge fit of panic, I had taken the photo album from Nana’s bedroom, to observe and critically memorize their features down to the tiniest, unnoticeable freckles on my mum’s cheeks.

I could easily remember their faces now though.

“Would you like to see a picture of them?” I offered and instantly, her eyes glimmered with anticipation. “Yes, please.”

“Just a minute.” I muttered, climbing down the bed to retrieve a framed picture of them which I kept in the drawer.

“Are you really sure you’re comfortable with sharing stuff like this with me?” Sofie asked.

“I am, doll.”

“Okay.”Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“You are literally your dad’s twin!” She exclaimed as I handed her the picture, and sat beside her with a smug smile.

“Tell me about it.” I prodded.

“You have his eyes, nose and height. But at the same time, you also have an uncanny resemblance to your mum, it’s really cool though. You have the same color of hair and lips.” She explained, her eyes illuminating with excitement as she caressed the picture.

She looked like an eager golden retriever.

“Really?” I beamed, staring lovingly at her.

“Yes. Though I have to say, your parents were really good looking, it’s not a surprise that their son is also very handsome.” She replied.

“Are you saying I’m handsome?” I teased, to which she huffed but nodded.

“I guess so.” She shrugged without darting as much as a glimpse at me.

“You’re cheeky, cara.”

“Do you want to have kids in the future?” Sofie suddenly asked, which caught me completely off guard.

I glanced at her but she remained calm with her concentration still rooted to the framed picture, “Where did that come from?”

“Nowhere, I’m just curious.”

“Well, if you must know, I don’t.” I truthfully responded.

Her face seemed a weird expression for a split second but when I blinked, it was no longer there which made me wonder if I had really seen it or it was just a mere imagination.

“Why?”

“I don’t see the need to have kids. Don’t get me wrong though, I don’t hate kids but they’re not for me. I’ve heard some really gruesome pregnancy tales from the people around me.” I began.

“I don’t want you to go through that sort of a dangerous ordeal. You know, Damien lost both his wife and child due to childbirth complications and a year ago, Nathan’s wife almost died from excessive bleeding after a cesarean section. Also, we don’t need kids to be happy when we have each other.” I concluded, throwing a smile in her direction, which she returned.

“Did the baby survive?” Sofie asked in a whisper. “Fortunately, yes.” I replied, to which she nodded.

“Are you sure you will never regret having children?” She asked.

“I’ve never been surer of anything else.” I answered which made her shake her head and sneer at me.

“You really are a considerate gentleman under that cold demeanor of yours.” She laughed, to which I huffed.

“It’s the truth though. As long as a couple are happy, and in love with each other, I don’t see a need for them to have kids but to each their own, I guess.” I muttered.

“Yes, I guess. I love you.” Sofie said, returning the framed picture to me.

“I love you too, baby.” I replied before planting a kiss on her forehead.

“Let’s take a shower and head down for breakfast, it’s almost noon already.” I said, staring at the wall clock.

The time was about ten minutes to noon.

She nodded, “Sure.”

“Do you want to take a shower with me?” I asked, and she snorted.

“No.”

“I won’t do anything else, I promise.”

“Yeah, sure.” She rolled her eyes but regardless, she got up and tiptoed to hook her arms around my neck.

“Just a shower and nothing more, doll.” I said, wrapping my arms around her waist and she nodded, “You better stick to your words.”

“Of course.” I said, delivering a spank to her ass which emitted a startled yelp from her, followed by a blatant refusal to shower with me.

Although, several minutes later, after she’d finally re-agreed to take a shower with me and we were in the bathroom, she went against her own words, got on her knees, and proceeded to suck me off.
