The Ceo’s Convict Wife

Chapter 1419

Then the three of them walked further away from Hanna. It was such a heartwarming scene.

Hanna watched them in a daze. Her father used to put her on his shoulders when she was little and every time, she exclaimed how high it was above the ground!

Suddenly, a small fish swam past Hanna’s feet. She bent down subconsciously to catch the little fish. But she accidentally lost her balance and fell forward. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Just when she was about to throw herself into the water, a strong arm wrapped around her waist and lifted her up.

Then Hanna heard Calvin’s angry voice above her head. “What are you doing?”

Hanna was stunned. She turned around and saw Calvin’s pale face. “I… I just wanted to catch the fish.”

Calvin was stunned for a moment. “Fish?” He lowered his head and looked at the small fish swimming along the stream. He looked around and noticed that some other people were bending down and catching these small fish. Then he had a moment of enlightenment.

Calvin realized that Hanna was just catching the fish. He thought sh going to do that terrible thing at first.

Hanna said, “You thought I was going to kill myself, didn’t you? Don’t worry. I won’t. My parents sacrificed their lives for me. I have to stay happy to repay their love for me!”

Calvin fixed his eyes on Hanna. He listened to her quietly and found fragility in her eyes but she still looked very strong.

Calvin slowly helped her stand firmly. Suddenly, Hanna exclaimed, “Look at your pants and shoes!”

All of his shoes and part of his pants were soaked in the water.

Calvin said indifferently, “Nothing. They’re just wet.” When he saw that Hanna was about to fall into the water he ran over to her without hesitation.

At that moment, he seemed to have forgotten everything else. He did it out of instinct.

Suddenly, several children ran toward them and bumped into Calvin. He tilted to the side slightly.

Hanna shouted, instinctively reaching out to grab Calvin’s arm, “Watch out!”

Bang!

However, Hanna and Calvin fell into the water together.

Hanna was on the top and Calvin was beneath her. Though the stream was shallow, it was enough to submerge a person who fell back on it.

Calvin was underneath Hanna. Most of Hanna was above the water but every part of Calvin was under the water.

Hanna hurriedly shouted, “Calvin!” She got off him, flustered, and tried to pull him up, afraid that he would be suffocated in the water.

Calvin sat up quickly and his whole body and head were completely wet now.

Hanna said Hanna anxiously, “How do you feel now? Are you okay?”

Calvin coughed slightly and combed his wet hair using his hand. He wiped off the water on his face. “I’m all right.”

The children who bumped into Calvin obviously realized that they in trouble. They all stood aside, shivering. Their parents came over quickly and apologized to Calvin.

One of them said, “Sorry, I’m so sorry!”

Calvin got up and said, “Never mind.” He turned around to Hanna. “Let’s get out of the water.”

Hanna replied, “Yes.” And then they got out of the water.

Calvin booked a suite at a hotel around the Great Valley because he and Hanna were all wet,

The suite Calvin booked was naturally the best and included several bedrooms and two bathrooms. There were all kinds of supplies in the room. The decoration was elegant and somewhat luxurious.

Calvin said, “There are bathrobes in the bathroom. Take off your clothes and shoes and ask customer service to wash and dry them. We should be able to head back to the city at night.”

Hanna replied, “Okay. I’m sorry for this.”

“It’s not your fault. You don’t need to say sorry.” Calvin said, “Okay, go take a shower. Otherwise, you’ll catch a cold.”

Hanna walked into one of the bathrooms.

Calvin’s hair was still wet. And suddenly, a trace of doubt flashed in his eyes.

Calvin thought, ‘What was wrong with me? When I saw her falling into the stream, my mind went blank and I just walked directly into the water to save her.

I knew that stream was shallow. She wouldn’t be in great danger even if she fell down. Why did I instinctively rush to help her?

What did it mean? Did I start to care about her?

Maybe I was a bit attracted to her and now even care about her very much.

Will I fall in love with her, who walked into my world out of the blue? Is she going to replace Rosalie in my heart?

Falling in love with Hanna is probably the best ending for me and everyone.

Am I really able to do it? After so many years, I think I am still trapp the past. I tried. I tried hard to get over it but never succeeded.

And Hanna! Is she able to do it?’

With a bitter smile, Calvin walked into the shower stall, turned on the water, and let the water run down his body.

When Hanna walked out of the room in a bathrobe, she saw Calvin sitting on the sofa and drying his wet hair with a towel.

Calvin was also wearing a white bathrobe. The moment he saw Hanna coming out, he asked, “Are you done?”

Hanna answered and approached him, “Yes.” Suddenly, she noticed that there seemed to be a scratch on his arm. But the hem of his bathrobe moved slightly around the scratch because he was drying his hair so she was not so sure.

Suddenly, Hanna quickly grabbed his hand. “Don’t move!”

Calvin paused and looked at her in confusion.

The next moment, Hanna lifted the sleeves of his bathrobe. As expected, she saw a clear scratch with blood around it.

Hanna exclaimed, “You’re injured!”

Calvin glanced at the wound on his arm and said, “I was probably scratched by a stone in the water just now. It’s just a minor injury.”

“I’d better clean it and apply some medicine to it. Otherwise, you can get infected.” Hanna said, “There should be emergency medicines in the hotel. Wait a minute.”

Then Hanna walked to the intercom of the hotel and called room service, asking for emergency medicines.

After a while, Hanna ended the call and breathed a sigh of relief. She walked back to Calvin. “Fortunately, they have what we need. Someone will send them here soon.”
